Yes, but as far as US political system is concerned hispanics is hispanics.

Besides, I'm pretty certain that, generally, given a choice between a person with a hispanic surname and a ol' white guy a majority of hispanics of all stripes will forget the Puerto Rican part.

Sam thing is true with asians, BTW. Between them, chinese dislike japanese who dislike koreans, etc. But here they're considered a monolith.

I think the demographic would be different. Only half or two thirds of the illegals are Mexican.

What about all the illegals from central America, Haiti and the Dominican Republic? Are these people natural conservatives? There is probably up to 1 or 2% from Islamic countries.
