The adults (teachers and law enforcement) behind these kinds of police state actions have lost their grip on reality.

Are they going to start throwing kids in mental hospitals for bringing a pickle, a Slim Jim or a candy bar to school in their lunch? After all - they can be pointed at others just like a finger or a pop-tart.

They have not lost a grip on reality. They are actively trying to change the culture so that the culture becomes unfamiliar with guns, just as they have done everywhere else.

And this is in West Virginia, which always struck me as basically pretty conservative! What would they have done to this poor kid in say, Massachusetts???
