FWIW, I heard that interview with Rubio on ABC. I thought he had come around....no bill without border security FIRST and EVerify. He made it very clear that the bill won't pass without that. Rubil also defended the negotiations, now saying the bill is a work that will have to be improved where it's weak.

On the panel on the ABC show, there was a shocker statement. The hispanic HOR rep actually said that jobs have to go to US citizens first.

This shows one thing...we're getting through the thick haze that surrounds DC.

Rubio was asked to respond to a statement from conservative commentator Ann Coulter that he was being “played” by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) in immigration talks.

“I don't even know what that means,” said Rubio.

Rubio is not being played. He knows Schumer's intentions and is in full agreement with them. He is a not a patsy. He is a partner.

If you’re part of the middle class, you are shit out of luck. Your employer, supplier, business partner, financier, customer, and your government will make sure that you and your employees will be replaced with plenty of cheap, compliant, illegal labor, and there’s nothing you can do about it, because illegals have become the new protected class. Welcome to the new plantation. Don’t bother complaining to your elected representative, because they will not listen to you, and do not care, because they were bought and paid for a long time ago by interests who put profit above country.

IF he actually believes that there will be any border security or vetting of the illegals already here, he needs to have his head examined.

Rubio might as well enjoy the attention while he's got it, because he's not going to be reelected.

Do not disregard the potential for embarrassments wished better not to be made public.

Perfect may be the enemy of the good, but there is very little of “good” in this bill without securing the border first. There have been appropriations made repeatedly in the past to fund the completion of the physical fence, and for such electronic enhancements as needed to assure its integrity. Yet somehow, these funds get diverted, never to be spent on their intended purpose.

Contrary to popular conceptions, ANY border may be made secure, and very often, without the extreme measures taken in setting up the physical boundary between East and West Berlin. This is not what is being asked for. That border existed, not to keep the West Berliners out, but to keep the East Berliners in a prison, if you will.

The United States is not a prison (at least, not yet). A boundary fence would be kept in place for much the same reason chicken wire fencing is put up around the chicken coop, to keep the predators OUT.

And predators swarm daily across our southern border, in a manner we have not had to protect ourselves from the neighbor on our northern border. Most (not all) Canadians speak English as a first language, so there is not the language thing (except for a few fiercely nationalistic Quebeckers) for entrants from that side. Also, there is not the incentive to enter the US for purely economic reasons, as Canada itself is a reasonably prosperous nation.

Mexico, and other Latin American countries, are almost universally much more poor than their neighbor to the north, and what looks like easy money is a powerful lure. For the most part, these migrants are not looking to BECOME Americans, they are just looking for a little quick bounty, and only intend to be here a short while.

But the short while turns into months, then years, and meanwhile, the whole family has quietly decamped from their point of nativity and joined the original bounty seekers.

Unprepared to integrate with the much larger core population of the host country, unable to communicate well, and unwilling to take what they consider to be even a small step backward, they duck down in the shadows, and have more than passing acquaintance with the wider criminal element in their environment. They become a new ghetto, not forced into it by just their neighbors, but suffering from the “crab syndrome”. One crab in a bucket without a lid, can pretty quickly stretch itself up and pull itself out of the bucket to escape. Two or more crabs, however, reach up and pull the first crab, closest to escape, back down into the depths of the bucket. This can go on endlessly, as the crabs have no idea whatsoever they are working, very competitively it must be said, against their own best interests, which is to escape the confines of the bucket.

Mexico, and Central and South America, all have the potential to raise themselves up from a widespread and grinding poverty, as the regions are quite well endowed with a vast array of natural resources, a generally pleasant climate for agricultural production, and certainly enough people to carry out all the tasks necessary to sustain a high level of prosperity and civilized behavior. And yet, they do not. Trapped by their culture, and a legal system that does not recognize the virtues of individual achievement, they know nothing else.

They tend to bring the same attitudes and personal limitations with them to the United States, for the greater benefit of nobody.

Then we reward by letting them in and re-create the conditions they knew in their home countries.

It’s not what is in the bill that counts, it’s the regulations that the ICE makes up after the bill is passed which they use to get around the bill.
Just like obamacare, the regulations the bureaucrats are making up off the top of their heads which are not debated in congress or approved are destroying the health care system.
If congress cannot clearly define the bill, then don’t pass it or any other bill. They should prohibit agencies from passing regulations which are not approved by congress and the prez.

You are correct sir! Rubio along with Christie and Jeb Bush have no chance of earning conservative support for 2016. I’ve had it with liberal republicans.

In perfect shape?

He is not a Republican, but is an embarrassment to the Tea Party. No illegal immigration magic wand.

Close the border and eject the housebreakers. Take Marco with them.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Sunday said that much of the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform bill was in “perfect shape,” but added he would insist on tougher border security measures.

Yeah, but what did he say on Univision?

Rubio was being interviewed by Michael Medved this week who was slobbering all over him and telling him how wonderful the immigration bill is; Rubio was eating it up.

Evidence that the DemocRATs were able to take the measure of the man shortly after he stepped into the Senate chamber after his election. I'm sure Reid and Schumer noticed his Achilles Heel right away: his ego, and began manipulating it. Within a few months, they had Rubio wrapped around their filthy fingers, and navigated him into the perfect Republican amnesty poster boy.
