I watch lots of Military channel, 4 Japanese Zero's teamed up against surviving Dauntless SBD drive bomber. One Zero could easily out fly the dive bomber but the American pilot didn't give up the fight he dogfight the Dauntless dive bomber, shot down 3 Zero's, rammed the last Zero the badly damaged dive bomber returned to base. Eagle vs Flanker? It all depends who's driving the plane.

Autonomous operation is reaching exceptional levels that exceed human capability. In my opinion it is the software that will advance the capability. Simply retrofit existing “hardware” platforms or design new higher performance ones. The concept of swarms has significant advantages over a single high performance aircraft even if individual swarm units do not perform at the same level as their targets.

Give it ten years, these platforms can be put together much faster and cheaper because they don’t have to account for human limitations or safety concerns (and the regs that go with it).

Probably, I have no idea. IMHO, Su-35 is a bastard aircraft. It is simply not that good for the money comparing to older legacy aircraft. They ‘ve put it in the market just to finance a T-50 R&D.

well my point about planes, Russian or Chinese is that we have way more Air Force than is needed for the next 20 years...if our enemy has a history of poor performance. Maybe we could focus the pentagon on a smaller faster and better military, one that works instead of one that wastes.
