Senate rejects border fence
The Washington Times ^ | June 18, 2013 | Stephen Dinan

Minutes after the border fence, senators also voted to weaken current law that requires the government to have biometric checks such as fingerprints or eye-scans for every visitor to the U.S. — a recommendation of the 9/11 commission that looked into the terrorist attacks on Washington and New York.

Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built.

The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.

Rick Perry is among the 90 percent plus phony politician Republicans we elect.

He postures conservative because he knows there’s another Ted Cruz waiting in the wings if he doesn’t.

We won’t but we can have a third party option already committed to run in the general elections if the conservative loses in the primary so the RINO’s know they have no chance of winning in the fall of 2014 if they choose to run as the Republican nominee.

I think two conservative candidates (one GOP primary, one independent for general) should line up and tell the incumbent RINO’s you may win the primary but you will lose the general because a real conservative will run in that one so resign now your services are no longer needed.

You are right. Perry is one of the biggest frauds around. And his faithful support him regardless how far left he may go.

If Perry had his way Cruz would never have made his way to the senate. I can't imagine this current immigration debate w/o Cruz there. Perry and his supporters could.

I guess that’s the end for Rubio.......

I’m maybe more flexible than some on this issue, but the fence is not negotiable

And the fence was already passed into LAW. WHY HASN’T IT BEEN BUILT?

He is on our side. Control your irrational Perry hate>

You must not have studied Perry's record. Trust me, Perry would have NO problem with this bill passing.

He is playing pure politics when he stated he is "against" this bill.

[We could secure the border in a few days by moving the National Guard there.]

Three powerful forces stand against border security: the Democratic National Committee who needs 10 million new voters; the U.S. Chamber of Commerce whose members require cheap labor and the lowering of wages 10 million new low-skilled laborers would affect; the Mexican drug cartels who need free corridors to export their illegal products into the U.S. and whose political tentacles reach into the White House.

This has never been about securing the border. IT IS ABOUT GIVING THE "VOTE" TO 12 MILLION UNDOCUMENTED DEMS.

Of course the GOP is dead - they refuse to preach and practive conservatism, and instead want to play identity politics with the DEMS, who have turned it into a well oiled machine. The GOP will never again elect a President.
Amnesty Will Destroy America

Notice what it did to CA after the 1986 amnesty.

The Senate’s rejection of this 700-mile stretch of double-walled fence reveals that many US Senators are unserious about the matter of border security; these people merely desire amnesty for the current illegals, without any reciprocity...

Perry supporters have no problem defending Perry's pro-ILLEGAL alien record. I know this to be true because I debated many of them on that very issue during the 2012 primary. They, too, do not want a fence. There are plenty of threads on FR wherein these people argued against it similar to the way liberals and Perry himself do.

Perry's supporters don't want a fence because Perry doesn't. I am convinced that if Perry wanted amnesty many of them would too.

I sense the sadness in your post and I too am saddened. But we cannot take the blame (well most of us that is) how were we to know some of them would turn out to be traitorous scum.

If Mr. Rubio were to have been pulling these shenanigans back in our forefather’s day he’d (along with Reid, etc.) be running scared right about now for fear of backlash in the worst way. But as it stands, they have the gumption to spit in our face because they know we won’t/can’t do shnit!

Mark Levin brought attention to Marco Rubio, based on how he presented himself to the American public. Mark was doing his research on Rubio, and making Rubio known to us, so that we can do the same. Rubio has now stated how he feels about certain issues, and we have been informed. Researching each of these political hopefuls is an ongoing process. Mark Levin is serving a good purpose...he is show-casing promising candidates, based on what they tell us about themselves and their beliefs. It's up to us to do further research, and keep our eyes and ears open.
