By the end of 2012, the New York Times published a sensational article called Survive Societal Collapse in Suburbia. It said Obama had already taken some steps to counter a massive civil war and incoming manifestation of totalitarianism. In these efforts he relies on a superagency the Department of Homeland Security employing over 160 thousand people, having a budget measured in dozens of dollars and supervising the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, tax services and other government bodies. It can operate beyond the US borders, allowed to arrest and physically neutralize, it boasts the whole army of informers and is given a carte-blanche for following the steps and hinder the activities of those, who are involved in subversive activities and considered to be the enemies of people by the US authorities.....

Do patriots really have a stomach for it?
Are the fascists counting on that?
The country against the cities. Cut off the supply of food, fuel, water and wait for the pot to boil.
Sounds like my budget.
Not any time soon.
Anything is possible. Probable? Time will tell.
Civil War - nope - Revolution 2.0
“How likely is it?” Inevitable
I really thought it would happen long after I was gone, but now I am not so sure.
And as far as having the “stomach for it?” that answer depends on the timing. I’ll lock and load tomorrow, our country is worth it. And I’ll have lots of company. But too much of that company has gray on the head. And as they slip away, the odds get much worse.
Today - the good guys win in a walk (although it may take a while to clean all the blood out of the streets).
Twenty Years from now - much more of a nail biter.
Fifty years from now - goodby America.
many people (with guns) will “fold” and turn them in.....
the military will be split.
The Gov’t will divide and conquer.(stratagem)
It’s the discussion itself that diffuses the possibility of it. We “get it off our chest” then go about accepting whatever the latest “outrage” of the day is.
You can just imagine what the CBO will do with this... this is going to "save us" Trillion$!!! We can't afford NOT to have a CW-II.
Possible
Not probable.
At this point some sort of conflict is virtually unavoidable. There remain only questions of timing and scale. Whether or not anyone has the stomach for it is beside the point. It is driven by immense political, cultural and economic forces, not individual decisions.
Alot of this is going to depend on governors and local officials and their reactions. Conservatives need to be entirely focused on these elections. Washington is lost, and any action by the federal govt will defy Congress anyway, so that’s the line in the sand.
We are on defense now people, and we need to shore up the fall back position.
People today tend to think of a civil revolt as
being a closed loop, the government vs. the people.
I have no doubt our “friends” the Chinese and Russians
would want to offer help to our “government” or even
both sides.
Its the discussion itself that diffuses the possibility of it.........”
If it is about principles don’t you think it would happen????
:)

***Interesting typo.
It will be less a civil war than us going all 1776 on their sorry @$$e$$.
Unfortunately the US Military has even the best equipped of us outgunned by a wide stretch, including the latest new high-teach weapons. If Military leadership has abandoned their obligation to country for allegiance to Obama (and there are troubling indications that they have), this would be a very short war indeed.
