Joan Walsh needs a significant other in her life, or maybe a dog. Whatever she needs, she needs it soon. Her continued, perpetual outrage over former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is producing enough hot air to cause real climate change.
Walsh writes for Salon. That sounds like a magazine about hair and manicures, but the name may be a nod to the oh-so-sophisticated gatherings of the 19th century’s idle elites to pose and discuss the deep issues of the day for their own amusement. “Well, Prince, so Genoa and Lucca are now just family estates of the Bonapartes. But I warn you, if you don’t tell me that this means war, if you still try to defend the infamies and horrors perpetrated by that Antichrist — I really believe he is Antichrist — I will have nothing more to do with you …”
Walsh must fancy herself another Anna Pavlovna. Her columns are screeds demonizing Republicans as dumb, evil, racist white people ― she’d undoubtedly call them Antichrists and Bonapartists if her audience were less modern.
Walshites hate conservatives, especially minority conservatives. They loathe pro-life female conservatives, since for liberal women, politics is all about abortion. And abortion isn’t just politics, it’s a religion, complete with inquisitions and heretics. Abortion is an article of faith, so those who disagree aren’t just wrong or misguided; they are evil. A man can be an infidel about it, but a woman who disagrees is a heretic and has to be wiped out.
Conservatives worry about al-Qaeda; Walshite liberals obsess over a wife and mother who wants to preserve lives, not see them blown apart by terrorists.
Palin’s latest sin is returning to Fox News as an analyst.....

But they reserve most of their scorn for conservative females who they view as traitors mostly because they, conservative females, do not love the liberal sacrament of abortion on demand. In short, Walsh is just a pitiful creature of God who wakes up each day wondering whose character she's going to assassinate. I doubt Palin gives her a moments thought.
Palin has dominated political debate in this country from her Facebook and Twitter accounts for 5 years now.
I doubt Walsh could pull that off.

On the other hand, it's gratifying to see Walsh vent so much liberal spleen in Palin's direction.
