Russia Rejects Obama's Nuclear Reduction Proposal

Moscow said Wednesday it cannot welcome U.S. President Barack Obama's proposal of cutting Russian and U.S. strategic nuclear arsenals up to a third.

"This means (Obama) either doesn't understand the essence (of the problem), or he openly lies, or he is deeply unprofessional," Deputy Prime Minster Dmitry Rogozin told reporters.

In a wide-ranging speech in Berlin, Obama called for a one- third reduction of U.S. and Russian deployed nuclear weapons, saying it is possible to ensure American security and a strong deterrent while also limiting nuclear weapons.

Under the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, which Obama signed with Russia in 2010, Washington and Moscow are committed to cutting their existing warhead ceilings by 30 percent over the next 10 years from the current 2,200 to 1,550. A further one-third cut in the arsenals would take them to the 1,000 weapons mark.

Rogozin said the two countries would not talk about nuclear disarmament until Moscow and Washington find a common language over the U.S. anti-missile defense deployment.

"In history development of a shield never happened without development of sword," he said, adding that Russia does not trust U.S. intentions to limit anti-missile system deployment by only four stages.

Foreign policy math is tough for an ideologue who admits to associating with Marxists during and after his studies. The Western Marxists are all about Affirmative Action, “social justice”, killing business, and similar domestic concerns. Obumster can’t do foreign policy as well as he’s done Obamacare and stimulus spending. Not only is he ignorant of history and Western Civilization, this semi-educated post-colonialist despises them, as noted by Dinesh d’Souza.

The Russians are playing hardball. Well, maybe firm-ball. They know hussein doesn't know how to negotiate, and doesn't really give a {expletive} about the US and our security. So they know a better deal is out there to be had.

I don't know if it is so much a "better deal" or they are more afraid of who gets elected should America finally "wake up". Its good for Russia to have a strong U.S.; not six active divisions and five active airwings of Marines strong, but good flex. hussein is f'ing it up all over the place for everyone.

No, they do detest him. Communists detest weakness and people who betray their own countries. The see Obama as a despicable, self serving punk.

The “Useful Idiot” part is a nice off shoot.

“Putin is doing a better job of fighting Obummer than the GOPers.”

If we get through this administration and still have a nuclear deterrent, we’ll ONLY the Russians to thank for that. It almost seems that they will take the steps necessary to assure we don’t commit suicide as they see the value in having us around and because we seem TOTALLY UNABLE to do it ourselves. Between this and social issues, it seems to me that Putin (and the Russians overall) are about the ONLY ADULTS left in the Western World.

Russia plays chess and the great game of international allances. Obama plays how to get re-elected and distract the folks from his corruption and greed. This could get bad—real fast—they Russians don’t care about the Tea Parties or Fox News, they care about power in the world and advaning the interests of Imperial Russia. The two headed eagle isn’t as powerful as the old USSR but its still wanting international influnce, warm water ports, and territory. They are even talking about getting Alaska back! They will use their power to keep their dictators in power and muzzle the mulsim extreamists in and out of Russia.

But I do think they know that they can’t go it alone and they know that China is not a good country to get in bed with, considering their likely designs on Siberia - so maybe they figure we’re good to work with.
