Most important, legal immigrants have to go back to their country and apply at an American consulate for a visa.

Did you mean the illegal alien lawbreakers?

Most of them wouldn't even qualify for a tourist visa. And why should we reward lawbreakers who have violated our laws multiple times, e.g., working illegally, ID theft, using phony or stolen SSNs, driving illegally, tax evasion, etc.

If they do not go back then they are arrested and sent back with no way of every coming back here. Commit a crime you go back, no well I have family here crap.

They have committed multiple crimes already.

The let those who are educated and have degrees here as well....

So they can take the jobs of Americans? One half of recent college graduates can't find jobs in their fields. We have a surplus of STEM graduates. There are 900,000 foreign students attending our universities. Let them all stay?

have you seen many of those leaving college today and what degree they have?

An American Bachelors degree is worthless today and it doesn’t help when many today leave school and then act as if the world owes them a favor and yes I see it every day

OK, I stand corrected on Rubio. I still stand by my point I was trying to make and that is if the Congresscritters that are trying to "make a deal with the devil" by passing a bill that says it will tighten border enforcement (already have a "build the damn fence law on the books")and they would be the ones that would implement and carry out law enforcement it just may work. BUT WE TRULY HAVE AN ADMINISTRATION RUN BY A VERY EVEIL MAN - BAD AS HITLER - AND HE HAS FILLED HIS ADMIN WITH EQUALLY EVIL PEOPLE.

Ding ding ding... We have a winner.

I agree and support no LEGAL immigration when the unemployment rate if above U6 10.0

The days of unimpeded immigration are over.

However, that being said, I’d rather have a secure border and visa control than anything else having to do with this bill, so that’s first for me.

And I’d get rid of any multi-cultural nonsense, I’d go English-only with a bullet, and quit this multi-lingual pandering on everything from directions to food info. If you are lucky enough to get accepted as an immigrant, then you are willingly leaving your old culture behind.

So we’ll continue to have a large number of illegal aliens because they sure as heck aren’t going to march back to Mexico to “Qualify” ....

This is all bad for us, as additionaly:

Plus up to a $3,000 tax credit incentive ‘employers will get’ for hiring an New Illegal Alien over a U.S. citizens. So you and I are ‘paying’ companies to hire them!

Furthermore...They would neither be eligible for ObamaCare tax credits.... nor required to pay a fine for not obtaining insurance...... some employers will face no penalty for failing to provide such workers affordable health coverage.

We are so lost and undone!

The Dems told Reagan a fence would be built in exchange for his Amnesty for illegals, too.. Still waiting for them to make good on their 25+ year old promise!

True, but Paul Ryan assured Mark Levin the other night that "this time we really mean it."

I didn’t say that... I said that I believe it is DOA... and I do think that there is a good chance that it will not pass. This deal is DOA... Rush just said it was smoke and mirrors with nothing for border security but goals and no requirement for anything dealing with security. IOW it is the same lies that they have fed us since 1965.

Our so-called leaders can pass all the security laws for the border they want but without meaningful enforcement it merely is pretty language used as political cover for an amnesty program supported by the Democrat Party and GOP establishment. Indeed, the current laws if enforced should be sufficient but because they are ignored we have 11 million+ illegal immigrants. I’m afraid that whatever is passed on paper — no matter how good it sounds — will amount to naught as a practical matter. That’s why, as many others have pointed out, the border first should be secured, and only then should the topic of a path to citizenship for those already here be discussed.

Heck I meant to post “I believe”... I don’t know if it will or not but the pressure against it is growing. Rush just said the same thing that I did here. It is NOT a “slam dunk” any longer.

Do you have any idea as to how the H1B visa program is abused and corrupted? Under this bill, the numbers go from 65,000 a year to 170,000. The bill also creates a new type of guest worker visa that allows 5,000 guest workers from each of the 31 countries we have free trade agreements with. This allows up to 155,000 additional guest workers a year.

If you are implying that the US cannot produce the skilled workers it needs to function as a nation, then you are full of sh#t.

However, that being said, I’d rather have a secure border and visa control than anything else having to do with this bill, so that’s first for me.

Then you have fallen for the scam the political elites are foisting on this country. This is just an orchestrated effort to create the impression that both parties have come up with the "magic bullet" to allow this bill to go forward. It really isn't about enforcement and border control. Each side still gets what it wants from the bill.

The Reps want more guest workers--skilled and agricultural--so that their big business contributors can depress US wages and enhance their profits. Privatize the profits and socialize the costs, i.e., have the taxpayer pick up the welfare and infrastructure costs.

The Dems get legalization immediately of the illegals who will get work permits, SSNs, unimpeded travel, etc. along with bringing in 22 million of their family members assuming there are only 11 million of them. The legal immigration system will still bring in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, at least two thirds of whom will vote Dem when they can vote. And the Dems still retain the immigration issue to pummel Reps with.

The Senate bill will pass upon approval of this amendment and then we will witness a propaganda effort like none ever before to push this bill to the House and demand that it be voted upon. This is all a charade. Don't fall for it. The fix is in.

And I’d get rid of any multi-cultural nonsense, I’d go English-only with a bullet, and quit this multi-lingual pandering on everything from directions to food info. If you are lucky enough to get accepted as an immigrant, then you are willingly leaving your old culture behind.

The bill only requires you enroll in an English class. You won't be deported if you don't learn English. The bill doesn't address birthright citizenship. Whatever you or I may want is irrelevant. This 1,000 page bill was written by special interests. Focus on the bill and what is in it, not what you would like to see.

Regardless of what Rush says, this phony enforcement amendment was hatched in the backroom by both parties. It allows the Dems to say that they have given a huge concession and the Reps to trumpet it as a victory. It is the fig leaf that allows more Reps to vote for the bill. The amendment will be passed and then both sides will pass the "fixed" bill out of the Senate. This will allow enormous pressure to be placed on the House by the WH. It is all part of the strategy to get back the House in 2014.

The Reps in the Senate are responding to the Koch brothers, Murdoch, the Chamber of Commerce, corporatet interests, etc. who want more guest workers. This bill doubles the number of guest workers. It is a disaster for the American worker who will see higher unemployment and lower wages. Even the CBO agrees that will be the effect thru 2023 at least.

full of S@@@ in your view of course and yes I know plenty on the HIB and the J and yes I also think there are plenty in America which cannot do the job due to their attitudes of thinking they are the best, Oh wait and what degrees they take today.

If a Doc comes from England, or an engineer comes from the Netherlands which many of the best do then good I hope they come here.

ull of S@@@ in your view of course and yes I know plenty on the HIB and the J and yes I also think there are plenty in America which cannot do the job due to their attitudes of thinking they are the best, Oh wait and what degrees they take today.

Facts are stubborn things. You can believe all this BS from the political elites. First, we needed all these low skilled immigrants to "do jobs Americans won't do," and now we need immigrants to "do jobs Americans can't do." The facts just don't support this propaganda.

Are There Really Jobs Americans Won’t Do? A detailed look at immigrant and native employment across occupations

"Of the 472 civilian occupations, only six are majority immigrant (legal and illegal). These six occupations account for 1 percent of the total U.S. workforce. Moreover, native-born Americans still comprise 46 percent of workers even in these occupations."

America Has More Trained STEM Graduates than STEM Job Openings. So Why Import Foreign High-Tech Workers?

"Why the demands, as supported by the Senate's Gang of Eight, from industry for huge increases in the number of H-1B workers? Is it a genuine shortage of talent, as the industry claims, or is it because, as the Wall Street Journal1 of all publications, put it, the firms want to continue to staff their operations "with Indian expatriates who earn significantly less than their American counterparts"? I think the Journal has it right. "

If a Doc comes from England, or an engineer comes from the Netherlands which many of the best do then good I hope they come here.

LOL. The number of skilled immigrants entering this country from Europe are miniscule. We get most of our foreign born doctors from the Third World.

Kabar, I’m in the odd position of agreeing with what you write, but still wanting a double fence with no-man’s land in between no matter what comes of this law. That just strikes me as the way things ought to be all the time.

if they;re small then why not immigration from Europe which has more skilled workers like Docs, oh and I believe what I see and who I know and what I have experienced.

Why we bring in unskilled workers who look to do welfare is beyond me but then again the left wants this because it means more on the dole and more to depend on the new God for them which for them is the Govt
