Last night when I saw another thread on this, my first thought was if she was black, she wouldn’t have even been sued, and this wouldn’t be news. Double standards.
My pastor in my Baptist church at my new home in Kentucky said the choire from the local “colored” church was coming to perform on Sunday night.
I tell people that moving here from seattle was very much like going back in time 50 years, most of the time in the “good” way. This is an example of a “neutral” way. My wife and I cracked up.
We also think it’s funny that a bedroom suite here is called a bedroom suit. :-)
People here are NOT dumb. They just have different priorities.

Deen described (to her husband, in private) a situation where a black man came into a bank and stuck a gun up side of her head. She was mad. I’d be mad, too, and might have called him worse. - There is no private any more; only PC, and people with your mindset nod approval. - We are not allowed to buck Obama on anything, because he’s half-black, and that would be RACIST! Meantime, he’s taking this country on a ride to who knows where. All aboard!!
These new offended populations seem to have thin skin.. When I was growing up in Chicago, we, Italians were called DP’s.. Displaced Persons, aka illegals.. I had mothers telling their daughters to stay away from me and my kind..
However.. In retrospect I told my daughters about the same thing.. jus sayin.. :)

I was playing scrabble with my kids years ago and put the word niggardly down and they went nuts !!! It is a word and I couldn't get them to realize it.

When only whites are banned the use of a word...when only whites get punished, their reputations ruined, their TV shows taken off the air, forced to apologize, forced to go to sensitivity training, whatever, for saying a word, then where does it lead? White people’s freedom of speech is being taken away. We need to be defiant about this and demand our freedom of speech, refusing to apologize. We need to defend people like Paula Deen instead of turning on her. We need to take a stand.

Horrors! She used the forbidden N-word, just the mention of the forbidden (to Whites) word can bring dismissal, shame, and cause a person to be imprisoned or become a target of law suits and race husslers! All White homes should be monitored with government microphones and tracked to see if they use the forbidden word in their sleep! One mention of the word—should be a crime set on the same level as burning a Koran or joining the Tea Party. Mark Twain’s Classic Huckleberry Finn is banned because he used the word! (He should have known better!). The word can incite a riot when spoken by a white person! This woman MUST be fired and banned from all TV! she should be audited by the IRS! the FBI must seize her computers and search her house for other forbidden items. I bet she has a KKK sheet under her bed!
When every other group gets special privileges and rights and whites don't that means that whites are the ones being discriminated against. Someone needs to set up a group with a subtle and non-offensive name that focuses on either raising the privileges of whites or knocking down the privileges of everyone else.
Been to both the downtown and the “Uncle” one out on the Bay. The Uncle’s place was fair to good for a seafood restaurant.
The downtown restaurant (Paula’s) is one of the best in the USA and I travel a lot, so have lots to compare. Definitely worth a trip to Savannah, even if only to have lunch or dinner. For Sunday lunch they have a line that is long, get there early. Try it you won’t be sorry.
Out of all the replies to the above statement, no one has asked, "Pray tell, how is the meaning of a word different when the skin color of the speaker is white?"
As a follow up, what other words have different meaning in America dependent on the color of one's skin?
