Barack Obama bombs in Berlin: a weak, underwhelming address from a floundering president
The Telegraph ^ | 6/20/2013 | Nile Gardiner

Posted on 06/20/2013 7:05:05 AM PDT by rktman

In stark contrast to that of his presidential predecessors, Barack Obama’s message on Wednesday was pure mush, another clichéd “citizens of the world” polemic with little substance. This was a speech big on platitudes and hopeless idealism, while containing much that was counter-productive for the world’s superpower. Ultimately it was little more than a laundry list of Obama’s favourite liberal pet causes, including cutting nuclear weapons, warning about climate change, putting an end to all wars, shutting Guantanamo, ending global poverty, and backing the European Project. It was a combination of staggering naiveté, the appeasement of America’s enemies and strategic adversaries, and the championing of more big government solutions.

3.5 more years folks. I don’t know how we are going to endure it. The guy is a serial embarrassment to our country. Between that and destroying the economy whats going to be left to salvage in 2016? Its going to be a mess.

Don't make too much of it. The Thatcherites on staff at The Telegraph have seen Obama for what he is since he announced his candidacy for POTUS just like us FReepers and a lot of folks who grew up behind the Iron Curtain did.

The portrayal of a slow-witted, angry, sweaty, thin-skinned President is SO rasissss. “Ich bin bad reader!”

Ya, the sun was in his eyes, that was the excuse.

Why do liberals and the MSM always have an excuse for him? The sun was in his eyes? The terrible debate performance in Denver was due to the altitude and jet lag? Would liberals have ever allowed George W. Bush such excuses?

She's thinking..."What dumb Americans" - too fat? too lazy? too rich? too poor? to see the obvious?

That's a fact. I remember during his initial campaign, he referred to the acquisition of nuclear weapons by Iran as "a game changer."

I laughed out loud. That is so vague, meaningless, and open-ended. Yet, the MSM and masses swooned. Now, he's refined it a bit with Syria's (supposed) use of chemical weapons. That "changed his calculus" of the situation.

I can see his team doing a lot of chin stroking and narrow-eyed musing while coming up with this pseudo-intellectual pap.

Same Utopian dribble...to hear Obama blather on, I’m surprised Merkel did not nod-off in the warm afternoon sun.

At least now, i’ve noticed, when i criticize his speeches to my liberal friends, i am no longer labeled a racist...

Progress
