Government policies are the symptom. Most FReepers make the error of thinking that the symptom is the same as the cause.
The cause is the thinking that man is good, man is smart, man can solve his own problems, and that man can solve any problem acting as his own higher power.
Progressivism is simply the vehicle to advance the belief.
