I expect at least 50% to be suicides. In the US, suicide by gunshot is one of the most popular methods, due to the available of firearms.
When firearm availability was restricted, the suicide rate by firearm declined. But, the total suicide rate did not change: people simply substituted other methods.
2 were semi-local in our area, so I looked up the names- both suicides. Interesting though, is that there were two other deaths in the same town, during the same time frame, both were also suicides, though done without guns. That town is a big gun-free lib zone.
Wikipedia:
“Two-thirds of all gun-related deaths in the United States are suicides. In 2010, there were 19,392 firearm-related suicide deaths, and 11,078 firearm-related homicide deaths in the United States.”
