Madonna (Really): 'Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People' By Tom Blumer Created 06/22/2013 - 12:15pm

There's no word on whether Elizabeth Vargas had to receive smelling salts during her interview of Madonna which appeared on "Good Morning America." But it wouldn't be a surprise if she did.

When the ABC reporter, whose interview was relayed by the network's Sabrina Parise and posted at Yahoo.com, questioned the diva's use of gun choreography in her current tour's stage show, she certainly expected a robust defense. But she probably didn't expect a trip into the land of the Second Amendment. Nonetheless, that's what happened (bolds are mine):

... (the) choreography drew criticism with the first act of her tour relying heavily on the use of guns. Despite that criticism, Madonna says she never would have left that part out of her MDNA Tour documentary.

"That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies," she said. "I mean the thing is, guns don't kill people, people kill people. That whole first section of the show is like an action movie, and I was playing a super vixen who wanted revenge."

Madonna even gave a statement that she does not condone violence, and that her work is art and nothing more.

"But I know there was several movies that delayed release because of the shootings, for example, at Sandy Hook Elementary school," Vargas said.

"Well that's not going to change the situation," Madonna replied. "This all comes from fear and ignorance, and people not really raising their children, or not paying attention to what's going on."

So far, the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" quote is still in the video at the link. It will be interesting to see if it survives long-term. Someone who's tech-savvy ought to figure out how to save the full interview in case it gets snipped.

Madonna's PC cachet is probably more than sufficient to survive the outrage which seems likely to follow, especially because of her vocal and edgy (i.e. profane) support of President Obama's reelection.

Or so she'd better hope.

Madonna may be a has-been, but she’s still from Jersey and despite her Obama infatuation may have moments of realism.

I thought the old whore was from Michigan. The hag's momentary lapse of common sense is purely accidental I'm sure.

It appears that her family still lives here. Her father owns a winery near Traverse City and her brother lives under a bridge there.

More and more people show up as more intelligent and more ethical than 99.99 % of the slimebubblers every single day.

One day, we’ll simply overrun them all.

Likely someone told her to get the attention of the celeb adoring sheep off Immigration/scandalpocalypse, lest they get...you know...ideas.SQUIRELL!!!

Then again, it could just be that her liberalism stops at her bank account and her show makes her money just as it is.

OK... maybe next time I’ll be a little more accepting of an elderly breast flash.

Thanks! I’ve revealed my ignorance of Madonna. But she was at least Italian American, right? (Or maybe not...)

Her dad owns a winery in MI?

They have series gun control in Britain.

Very true. And my understanding is that in recent years "Madonna" has spent most of her time there.I'm sure she's also aware of the fact that both George Harrison *and* the Queen have had unwelcome guests in their very own homes. That,I'm sure, would make her want to have armed security around her 24/7

And anyone who watches Prime Minister's Question Time from London knows that the big push by leftists these days in Parliament has been for *knife* control.I kid you not.

Though I don’t think she has any real discernible talent, I have always said she was the hardest working person in showbusiness and never begrudged her hard earned success.

This is all because of some tour.
Grandma GaGa is just whoring for publicity and relevance again,
