Atlanta police said a man was shot and killed in Little Five Points early Saturday morning after he tried to rob a group of people waiting in line to buy the new, $180 sneakers, the Nike LeBron X EXT, which were released today.

One man in the line pulled out a gun and shot the would-be robber, witnesses told police, who have charged no one and consider the shooting to be self-defense.

The shooter then got back in line, according to Channel 2 Action News.

I’ve read stories, over the years, of ghetto thugs killing each other to get the pair the other guy was wearing. And other stories of people getting trampled to death, in a stampede, trying to get into a store to buy limited pairs of them.

Key phrase: ghetto thugs (of all stripes).

Robbing the typical folks who line up for sneakers is close to robbing a gun shop!

>>, I would be very leery about a person that shoots a person in a matter-of-fact fashion.<<

When you live where human life isn’t highly prized, it is easy to dismiss a solitary death. Remember that the robber disrespected these people. That is a cardinal sin in their neighborhood.

Yes, but shooting a person is not something that a person with a conscience should be so desensitized about. Getting back in line like it's no big deal, is not what a normal human should/could be expected to do. Shooting a person, no matter the cause, is not like swatting a fly or squishing a bug, where you can just go on about your life with nothing to bother your conscience about.

It only shows a snippet, but it looks like thug was running away when he was shot.
The way the shooter whipped around and started shooting gives me tne impression this ain’t his first rodeo.
I find it hard to believe the shooter wasn’t detained for questioning but was allowed to remain in line. Wonder whose son he is?
And who isn’t carrying a gun on Moreland?

Thanks Marktwain, that needed to be set right.

Some lack the mental horsepower needed to understand the difference between free market capitalism and criminal behavior.

I gather from the story that just about everybody in line attested for the shooter, and when you get a whole crowd in agreement, the cops tend to believe it as well.

My guess is that the shooter wasn’t arrested because the cops knew the robber as somebody with a long and violent criminal history. They were probably glad to see him go down.

Ask the young Black teenagers from Chicago or Philly what they think about witnessing a shooting. Most of them wouldn’t bother to take a picture of the body.
