The LDP is Japan’s version of the GOP. The DPJ would be the equivalent of the RINO wing of the GOP plus the Blue Dog Democrats. The Japan Communist Party is, for the most part, to the right of U.S. Democrats. Notice that they are not even mentioned in the election results. They are considered a fringe group with isolated pockets of strength in Japan’s equivalents of inner city Detroit.
I was in Osaka in 2003 and a Japan Communist Party van drove by WARNING about a tax increase. Laughed my ass off.
