thus Obama being elected again, though most was fraud.

I disagree. People voted for entitlements which Baraq provides in massive amounts. As long as the markets continue to swallow the Bogus Bernanke Bucks that pay for them, Dems are in great shape.

"Our population on the other hand has long forgotten."

No they haven't. Which is why the "powers that be" so desperately want "gun control".

I think FReepers are seriously misunderstanding these riots. The groups that are behind them are actually extreme leftists and the usual bunch of “university leftists” who are dissatisfied because Brazil’s already leftist government isn’t leftist enough.

There are certainly things to protest there - corruption, etc. - but these people want it to be worse, not better. They want to get rid of private industry and trade, and actually want something that is more like Chavez’ VZ, a failed state that for some reason is the model for all Latin American Marxists.

you and I have gone over this before about fraud , infact we have a couple of times .

Again you can say it’s about welfare and it was to a degree but there was massive fraud in the Dem controlled counties in the swing states and Col West showed us all how votes were found, polling stations open in just Dem controlled counties, ballots handed out to those who never showed ID, illegals voting, students and snow birds voting more than once

Ditto. Been saying that myself for awhile, and I’m (considered)a minority. Let’s put it this way: Why do muslims, sodomites and angry black folks get what they want, even when it’s only a few of them start bitching?

Think about that, and it’ll help you figure out why we’re losing.

All these years later and I still have to laugh at how much MacGyver deplored guns. Yet blowing people away with homemade explosives was hunky-dory.

Back in the 80s action heroes knew how to use high powered weapons in a totally safe manner. For example, take the A-Team. Every week they would shoot up a car full of bad guys with hundreds of rounds from a high powered weapon mounted atop their improvised tank, hundreds and hundreds of rounds. When they ceased firing the car would be a smouldering wreck yet you can be sure that thanks to the superior marksmanship of the A-Team the bad guys would all come crawling out of the car coughing and waving white handkerchiefs, perhaps with dirty faces or dissheveled clothes but otherwise unharmed. That, my friend, is precision application of firepower.

In a like manner McGyver could fill a room with toxic gasses made from regular household materials secure in the knowledge that there was sure to be a window that the bad guys would all safely could crawl out of, injuring only their pride in the process. Who needs a gun when you can do that?

The people must force the fedgov back into its constitutional cage.

To do that we need to rip entire limbs off it first.

I doubt they are protesting because they want more Democracy. More likely the government isn’t Socialist/Communist enough to their liking.

That's not the case. My Brazilian GF (yes I am that fortunate) is in constant skype contact w locals in Brasilia, Sao Paolo, and Rio - it's a protest about having to pay attention to whats going on. The generalization about Brazilians being fun-loving and life-loving and all that is 100% correct. They are coming to the realization that their HIGH taxes are not being used for what it was intended for and the central govt Bcrats are getting rich. As a group the people of Brazil know little about what makes good government so they have a long way to go. But this is hardly a movement to the Left. If anything it is a recognition that a big central govt is not to be trusted.

I am optimistic that there will be a push for federalization where the Brazilian states are "forced" to take responsibility for things everyone thought the central govt. would do.

Beware the fury of a happy people who are forced to take responsibility for their lives.

That would be that the really good hackers are going to find ways to evade government scrutiny and communicate.

This really bugs me. How can I know my systems are not compromised? This is a really deep question. I wonder if we may have to start with bare metal, or invent a new computing paradigm that is born un-suborned?

Or perhaps I am forgetting something outside the box, eg the best defense is an effective offense? hmm. To Ponder.

Heh... home for me actually isn’t far from Chautaqua Lake... read a review for the book... the author must be local... draws from the typical local population... complete with Senecas and Amish.
