Snowden, the World, Making a Fool of Obama

(Reuters) - Since his first day in office, President Barack Obama's foreign policy has rested on outreach: resetting ties with Russia, building a partnership with China and offering a fresh start with antagonistic leaders from Iran to Venezuela. But the global travels on Sunday of former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden highlight the limits of that approach. Leaders Obama has wooed - and met recently - were willing to snub the American president.

The cocky defiance by so-called "non-state actors" - Snowden himself and the anti-secrecy group, WikiLeaks, completes the picture of a world less willing than ever to bend to U.S. prescriptions of right and wrong.

Snowden flew out of Hong Kong, the semi-autonomous Chinese territory, early on Sunday after Hong Kong authorities rebuffed a U.S. request to detain him pending extradition to the United States for trial. Snowden has acknowledged leaking details of highly classified NSA surveillance programs.

Beijing may merely have wished to get rid of a potential irritant in its multifaceted relationship with Washington. But Snowden's next stop was Russia, a U.S. "frenemy" in which the friend factor has been harder to spot since President Vladimir Putin returned to power in May 2012.

WikiLeaks, which says it is helping the 30-year-old Snowden, said via Twitter that he intended to go to Ecuador, whose government has antagonistic relations with Washington. Ecuador's foreign minister, Ricardo Patino Aroca, said, also via Twitter, that his government had received an asylum request from Snowden.

I type this with a “HUGH” smile on my face! I love it when the rest of the world tells HUSSEIN to go sh!t in his hat. Beautiful! Clare Daly leads the pack.

nobama IS a fool...the rest of the world is just beginning to recognize that.

What do you expect from a person that achieved nothing in his life; and, has lived a lie his whole life. Remember when he went on the airwaves and announced/threatened Asad - the use of chemical weapons would cross the red line? Well, its been reported that chemical weapons were proven to have been used. The response from Odumbass? Nothing. Reminds me when he told Congress - don't call my bluff. What a maroon.

I must be because he does not care about the difference between right and wrong, so his respect is zero, as well.

It is not Snowden or the world making a fool of the imbecile occupying our White House; The imbecile does quite well in making a fool of himself.

Snowden is not making fools of Obama and his administration. The people or group behind Snowden are. This is too sophisticated for a 20 something to come up with and there are too many other things being exposed in other areas to only be Snowden.

This is a power play between two powerful groups, the New World Order (communist/socialist that want total control of all people) against someone else.

Who that other group is is the real question.

Think it through...too many scandals released one after the other about how this administration is operating and none discovered by our press. Someone is trying to destroy Obama and the control of people that has been created world wide with this data mining system before it can not be stopped.

The real fools are the American voters (especially those under the spell of white guilt complex) who put him and his merry band of Communists into office ... twice. Every great nation eventually falls. Few if any commit suicide.

Do you really think Romney would have made a difference in what is going on....please take a look at our supposed republicans jumping up to defend this....

The whole lot has been compromised and are being controlled....and the ones that are not willing to buckle under are leaving.

Snowden told the South China Morning Post, “My position with Booz Allen Hamilton granted me access to lists of machines all over the world the NSA hacked,” he told the Post on June 12. “That is why I accepted that position about three months ago.” Don’t believe it? Read it at http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/article/1268209/exclusive-snowden-sought-booz-allen-job-gather-evidence-nsa.

I am still leaning toward him doing the world a favor.

However, it finally depends on how much really critical military info gets to Russia, Chicoms, etc.

If this is the case, an iron clad case for treason conviction is needed for him, all the way up to Obama.

Do you really think Romney would have made a difference in what is going on?

Yes, I do. Romney was never and would never have been my first or even third or fourth choice as candidate and president. And I probably despise weak kneed lying RINO's as much as you. But to equate Romney with someone who is a believing Marxist, despises this country and everything it represents, hates the Capitalist system with a passion, possesses literally no experience outside of academia and the Left, is sympathetic to the enemies and enemy to the friends of the United States, or to think there would be no differences in their policies and priorities, is ridiculous. Sometimes one must choose between a bad choice and a terrible one.

I can't and won't try to tell you what to do. I can only speak for myself. But we all now have to live with the consequences of the choices that we, as a people, made last November.

All that being said, if you tell me we'd be in as deep s*** as we are now if McCain had won in 2008 we might find some common ground.

Hmmm... not as many as in the past, but I will start with support of regimes in Iran and Venezuela

Well we intervened in Kosovo against their Serb brothers to defend Islamo-Fascists, so they probably figured they’d get us back.
