Westboro Baptist Church bears witness to gay wedding

...ceremony officiated by lesbian Baptist minister directly across the street A lesbian couple gave the bigots at the Gay-hating Westboro Baptist Church a taste of their own medicine by tying the knot in an outdoor ceremony across the street from the church.

The Westboro members, who are infamous for staging anti-Gay protests at the funerals of fallen soldiers, were forced to watch as Kimberly Kidwell and Katie Short said “I do” just 50 feet from their front doors in Topeka, Kan.

Same-sex marriage is not legal in Kansas, but the couple proceeded with the ceremony with the help of an ordained Baptist minister, who also happens to be a lesbian, to raise awareness of the issue.

Approximately 100 guests filled the front lawn of the rainbow-painted Equality House to cheer on the couple who traveled from just north of Little Rock, Ark.

Aaron Jackson, one of the founders of the Equality House's Planting Peace charity, described the entire event as "absolutely perfect" thanks entirely through the community's generous donations.

Both these groups on the surface are diametrically opposed to each other, but may more in common than meets the eye. They're all a bunch of attention whores. And if the day ever comes where one of the Westies are caught in the act with a transvestite prostitute, it would come as no surprise. Seriously, this is what we get when people treat The Bible as a menu instead of a rulebook.

Are these anti-Christ Democrat activist lawyers going to be protesting any of the civic funded gay pride parades this month or are they going to continue to spit on the graves of US soldiers instead?

It is not at all impossible that the Phelps group knows that they have done more to advance gay rights in America than any other single cause.

LIttle is said publicly of how Phelps is a democrat and ran for public office as a democrat.

Another day in the American spectatorship.

I think Westboro is in on it, to try to convince people that anyone against gays are just like them.

The Westoboro “church” numbers 70 something people, mostly a cult family, is a democrat organization and is largely lawyers who sue a lot, and they chose the name Baptist, a name associated with the most conservative Christians in America, and everything that Westboro does has nothing to do with effectiveness related to opposition to the gay agenda, or pro-Christian activism or a possible political message or even advancing scripture, but is always the most ugly, negative publicity possible, tied to the title of “Baptist”, “church”, “anti-gay”.

I think that the two groups have a lot in common also and play for the same team.

. . .the Westies. . .

Ugh please don't call them that. My favorite dog breed, West Highland Terrier, is called Westie for short. They are loving, happy dogs and have absolutely nothing in common with the kooks at Westboro.

Sounds like America to me, where everyone wants to shove themselves down everyone else’s throat.

I think I’d rather live in a country of dogs.

Maybe even a planet of dogs.

Well, you had me up to the last sentence. I catch that the Bible is not a "menu". But, the only alternative is a "rulebook"?

A lesbian Baptist? That’s like a round square. A pox on both fake churches.

This pervert might be "ordained" in the church of the devil.....she is certainly not Ordained in the Church of Christ; a wolf in sheep's clothing, she leads others to damnation and for leading others to sin will pay with the damnation and punishment of her own soul.

I can call myself an astronaut, it doesn't mean I am. Likewise, she can call herself a "Baptist minister," it doesn't mean she is.

Same-sex marriage is not legal in Kansas

Common liberal fascist propaganda. Same-sex marriage is not recognized by the state of Kansas. Same sex couples are free to enter into civil contracts very similar to traditional marriage. They can also have a religious ceremny under their first amendment right and the government will not kick down the door and break-up the ceremony.

What gay couple want, they say, is for the state to recognize the marriage. This is of course a "big whop" as who cares what the state thinks. So what gays really want is for the state to regulate them just as they have regulated traditional marriage for hundreds of years. Which begs the question of why would anyone subject themselves to government tyranny?

Sorry about that. My daughter as a Wire Haired, part Jack Russell Terrier. They are playful, well mannered dogs.
