It didn’t help that Jan Brewer said today “This Gang of Eight bill is a victory for Arizona.” She later said she meant only the border enforcement part, but horrible timing.
I can imgine McCain or Flake trying to sell her: “Listen, baby, we respect your strong stance on “enforcement first” and now this amendment will make sure it gets done YOUR way. And you will get all the credit!”
