Generally speaking, I have a real hard time caring about this, but... I think the folks at Oliver Maner, LLP, the Savannah law firm that represents Deen, should check their malpractice coverages. When you have a client who is this type of celebrity, the reputation damage (and foreseeable consequences) of the answers in the deposition is so consequential, the right move would have been to interrupt the deposition and settle. Surely it would have been at a lower net cost to her than this fandango.

This should not be a big deal... political correctness went amuck some time ago... the only persons who aren’t protected against attack are the conservatives and Christians. Too much picky picky and not enough common sense. She shouldn’t have used those words, but that goes for way too many people who use those and other words I find offensive. I’m really weary of grownups who can’t stand this or that.... really picky stuff... and allow the important things to just go.
