I posted the comment below on a thread last night. It's pure speculation:

Snowden was posted to Switzerland by the CIA as a technical specialist six years ago. He said he became disillusioned by some of the tactics the CIA used to acquire agents. Snowden: “Much of what I saw in Geneva really disillusioned me about how my government functions and what its impact is in the world. I realized that I was part of something that was doing far more harm than good.” I think it's possible Snowden was recruited by the Russians while in Geneva and has worked for them ever since. Putin may have orchestrated Snowden’s public disclosures to embarrass Obama a few days before Obama met with the Chinese to complain about cyber attacks.

I don’t know if Putin celebrates Christmas but what a gift he got when Mr. Snowden came to town.

I think we’re jumping to the conclusion that Russia is treating this kid to a spa package and five star dining.

Seriously, if this kid knows as much as he claims to, why would Russia let him just waltz off to Ecuador without first... um... debriefing him for as long as they want?

Obama doesn't want to pick a fight with Putin, he could snap obama in half like a twig. It's pretty sad when the Russians have become more conservative than their largest former adversary, and have to lecture the west about the evils of communism.

Now that Obama has decided to arm the rebels in Syria, we’re at war with Russia, which is arming Bashar Assad’s side.

It’s like the Vietnam War, Russia vs. America, except this time it’s in the Middle East instead of the Far East.

Keeping Edward Snowden in the public eye allows Russia to present the bumbling, incompetent state of U.S. intelligence to any potential allies — Britain, France, etc. — who might be considering joining us in Syria.

It’s an enormous blunder that the Obama administration left its most sensitive intelligence information in the hands of a 29-year-old high school drop-out, then couldn’t prevent his blowing the whistle on the U.S.’s entire intelligence operation, and then couldn’t deal with the fall-out from the incident, nor even get the individual it believes is a dangerous traitor back into U.S. custody so he won’t spill the sensitive beans he’s supposedly carrying around with him.

What country would want to get involved in a war on the side of the U.S. under such a pathetic bunch of losers as the Obama administration has turned out to be?

Putin is one of many Russians who still believes they'd like to rule over a "classless" society.

Well, Obama and his cabinet are about as classless as you get, and Putin is merely demonstrating the hows and whys of it.

The Obama Fascists want Snowden bad. My guess is that Snowden has something, maybe a Benghazi Card, to play.

I can hardly wait.

Play them like banjos Snowy!
