Minnesota state representative Ryan Winkler, a white Democrat, did not have the world's most well-thought-out response to the Supreme Court's 5–4 ruling against a key provision of the Voting Rights Act today. As you can see in the tweet above, he referred to Clarence Thomas, who voted with the majority, as "Uncle Thomas." Uncle Tom is a derogatory term used to describe "a black who is overeager to win the approval of whites (as by obsequious behavior or uncritical acceptance of white values and goals)," which is exactly how it's being used here by Winkler.
Winkler deleted the tweet and apologized, but also claims, dubiously, he didn't realize "Uncle Tom" had "racist" connotations.
To be fair, there are situations when it is not racist for a white guy to call a black guy "Uncle Tom," such as when referring to an actual uncle of his named Tom, which is not what happened here, so never mind.
Shouldn’t “mother Africa” be apologizing for slavery considering it was tribal warlords there who captured and sold African slaves and there is STILL slavery in Western Africa today??
Notice that Barabra Walters’ steered clear of even discussing the full Bill Maher remark? He was saying that Sarah Palin has a retarded son. WHY? Barbara said it is because Ms. Palin is a controversial figure who gets ridiculed. So why bring up her son and his mental facilities?
Did Bill Maher say “Of course Sarah feels she has something intelligent to say, she spends her days talking to her retarded son”?
Or did Bill Maher say “Sarah Palin has a retarded son, acorn didn’t fall far from the tree, did it?”
WHAT was the statement Mr. Maher made? It goes beyond JUST saying “retard”. AND Barbara Walters knows it.

Barbara Walters defended Maher because a few weeks ago apparently The View contacted Sarah Palin to be a guest host on the show..she said no..so this was some sort of payback on Walters part..The View accused Sarah Palin of being involved in 6 murders(The Giffords shooting) did they think for one second that she would appear on that crappy show..Barbara Walters and the rest of those hags are just plain disgusting..according to Whoopi “Retard” doesnt have the same meaning now that it did a long time ago..I wonder how Whoopi would feel if someone went to her face and called her the N word, maybe that word doesnt have the same meaning either anymore

If we were to assume for one minute that he did not know the meaning of Uncle Tom then why on earth call someone Clarence an Uncle Tom?
He should be removed from his elected position for insulting all of America’s intelligence.
The only ‘Commandment’ that matters is the 11th... the one that says ‘Thou shalt not call people or groups names” .
