Longtime Democratic U.S. Rep. Edward Markey defeated Republican political newcomer Gabriel Gomez in a special election on Tuesday for the state's U.S. Senate seat long held by John Kerry, a race that failed to draw the attention that the state's 2010 special Senate election did.

Gomez did his best to alienate the Republican base. He tried to win over the RAT base, instead.

Gomez is beyond Rino ...however EDDIE Tasty Freeze Mahkey does not even own a home in MA... he is “moron” personified.

And how did that work out.

What a stupid party.

Hard to fathom the depths of ignorance that makes for a Democrat voter. Where too; were supportive 'Party' Repubs on behalf of Gomez? How much did they actually contribute to this failure?

(Clearly; a 'racist'/bigoted response here; by typical Libs. . .)

And while God may forgive America; this person, will not forgive Massachusetts voters; or those in the rest of our Country either; for that matter; who cannot see/refuse to see; their own damning idiocy.

Or a Republican politician.

What dumb people who live in that state who went out to vote for the man who is the face of cronyism. Shaking head.
The Navy Seal would had been better. He may have won if he had not wimped out on conservatism. But, it is Massachusetts. Fraud and liberalism is hard to break through. The republicans have to get their base energized to win.

“Forget it, Jake, it’s Massachusetts.”

NEVER forget that!

If a republican came CLOSE to winning a Senate seat in MA, THAT would be news. Scott Brown was a very rare exception to the rule.

The democRATs rejected G-d at their convention, they would easily reject a Navy SEAL.

The Navy SEAL rejected God also.

Gomez winning would have led more candidates with the same lack of values. Hopefully the GOP learns but I greatly doubt it.

Good observations. I’m quite surprised to see as much red in MA as there is, but it’s hard to top all of the grifters who live in the cities.

Okay; missed the fine print per his ‘position on guns’ - who would have thought? Oh the insanity of it ‘all’. Too depressing; and too few authentic ‘Republican’s; Still. . .a Navy Seal; and we might have ‘educated’ him; in time.

Great post. The GOP could run a solidly conservative Albert Pujols and the white Marxist candidate would rout him amongst “Hispanics”. They know who will butter their bread.

Unfortunately, "former Seal," wasn't a conservative.

At least that's what I've read, that he was pro-gay marriage, pro-amnesty, pro-choice!

When given a choice between liberal or liberal-lite, no problem, liberals stick with the real deal!

When given the choice of a genuine conservative or liberal, many, even in Taxichusettes, go for the conservative!

I used to care about the Senate, but since the RINOs took over I could care less.

There is great rejoicing here on Free Republic that Markey, an avowed and dedicated Communist won instead of his RINO opponent. I find this odd, but for many, they would prefer a committed enemy of liberty and freedom to someone who does not profess the purity of their particular brand of conservative thought.

I am more conservative than almost all of my neighbors here in Kansas, squishes that some of them tend to be. But, I would never vote for a Democrat, support a Democrat, say a good word about a Democrat, or speak ill about any Republican outside of primaries. But, that’s just me, Freepers seem to enjoy being losers. Especially Norm.
