I'm sure the defense has not decided yet. Defense lawyers do not want to put a defendant on the stand unless necessary, because it's risky to open them up for cross examination. They wait until the end, and if the state has not proven their case, then they will not put the defendant on the stand.

So to answer your question, I think it's highly unlikely that you will see Zimmerman on the stand.

Some comments here on FR have been giving-up the defense attorney as brain dead simply because he told a little joke, like AP totally ignoring everything else he said and did. Presuming that that harmless little joke destroyed his whole case.
