I wouldn't mind a full three hours dedicated to discussing the proposed "Louis Lerner Rule".

The 'Lois Lerner rule' hits Washington: Legislation filed to FIRE federal employees who refuse to testify before Congress

A proposal hit Capitol Hill late on Thursday to force the firing of any federal government employee who refuses to testify before Congress after receiving a grant of immunity.

The idea is already being called the 'Lois Lerner rule,' and it promises to pit good-government lawmakers against powerful public sector employee unions.

A source inside the American Federation of Government Employees told MailOnline that the union will likely fight the bill if it gathers any steam, but conceded that once it becomes law there won't be much it could do to save the job of a federal worker who invoked the Fifth Amendment in a congressional hearing.

That's what embattled IRS Exempt Organizations chief Lois Lerner did on May 22, refusing to answer questions during a House Oversight and Government Reform committee hearing about her agency's targeting of conservative groups.

Rep. Mo Brooks, an Alabama Republican, wrote the bill after Lerner's ill-fated moment of infamy. She has since been placed on administrative leave, but continues to draw a salary.

'Any federal employee who refuses to answer questions in a congressional hearing after being granted immunity shall be terminated from employment,' reads part of Brooks' bill.
