Tax offices across Greece will be closed for transactions on Thursday and Friday due to a 48-hour strike called by the union representing tax bureaus staff.
Employees are protesting against the closure of a number of tax offices and other cost-cutting measures adopted by the government.
A rally is scheduled to take place on Korai Square in central Athens at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday.
Members of the public wishing to meet end-of-the-month payment deadlines will be granted an extension until next Tuesday.
Fire everyone and give the people of Greece a summer tax holiday.
Then rehire new people in the fall.

Our tax authorities have been ‘striking’ for quite awhile now. Very effectively.
