"Northampton voters overwhelmingly approved a $2.5 million Proposition 2½ override Tuesday, the second time in four years residents agreed to permanently pony up more in property taxes to retain city and school services."

they'll come back to the well in 4 more years...

If that’s how the tax payers react imagine what the city employees who are getting a $2.5 million raise are doing.

Eyes rolled up in their heads passed out in an ecstatic dream.

Can we stop using the word, “liberal,” to describe them? It’s long since a time when they were actually liberal.

And every city clerk, fireman, teacher, policeman & so forth in small & big towns across the land become multi-millionaires. This is where most of this tax money is going.

She’s making the same “sissy fist” that lib congressmen & senators (Delauro, Kennedy) make during one of their deranged rants.

That brief-a$$ little flit on the left can’t weigh a hundred pounds. Good grief. What’s become of real men in this country?

The scowling broad in the background is probably a dismayed homeowner.

That’s funny, in my solidly GOP school district, the doughy soccer moms and their feckless husbands will damn near burn a cross in the front yards of their fixed income elderly neighbors if they come out against a school levy. Lots of “pay it forward!” And “if you can’t afford more taxes, then pack up and move!” The last time around, it was more taxes so their kids they whelped out could play games and be in clubs at the expense of their neighbors. These good suburban conservatives have sense of entitlement that would make an inner city welfare queen blush.

A small town raising broad-based taxes to pay for services for itself is a good exercise in self-determination — more power to ‘em, really. Bears no resemblance to “tax the rich” nonsense in California or New York, where a big minority (public employees and welfare recipients) connives to force its way into the pockets of a small minority.
