If the Russian Presidential Council for Human Rights really sponsored Snowden's asylum in Russia that would be hilarious. To make it look more oficial they should also request the UN Human Rights Council approve the asylum request too. They should organize meetings paid for by Obummer's UN dues.

There would be a show trial in the U.S. for him. They wouldn’t even let him speak in his own defense for fear he would reveal more of the government’s misdeads.

Gotta hand it to Putin the guy knows how to put the screws to the Marxist thug. Hell--old KGB and grew up in the USSR. The guy knows his way around the lying slime and how to power play them. Obama is hand made totalitarian, dictator, thug trash and Putin is like a cat with a mouse that he's finally cornered. :-)
The question is. Does the cat have the mouse in his mouth yet or is there more to come . . .. I await with joyous anticipation.

Interesting that they explicitly included protections for Russian whistle blowers in their statement.

I just love getting news from all sources in order to get a full prospective of the amazing difference in people in all areas of the globe, even within the same country.
So much for the Obama admin pretending that the humanitarians in Russia and China are their best buddies. Maybe the world really does not like a bully in sheep's clothing. Nobody takes kindly to governments abusing their own people after lecturing everyone else on doing the same and expecting reform. There is something fundamentally twisted about that prospect. Tread lightly oh rulers of the "Transformed US". The world is now watching.
