Left lane pluggers are typically hard core leftists. Leftism is motivated by envy, which is a side-effect of vanity. There is nothing leftists won't envy: your automobile size, your speed, how much salt you use, the size of your big gulp. They seek to level the playing field by plugging up traffic, making everyone's speed fair and equal. The cops do not appreciate the drop in highway robbery targets though.
Out on the open Interstate highways I wonder if people using cruise control go brain dead. It’s aggravating to pull up behind someone that’s slowly overtaking a truck until the highway starts a slight downgrade. Then the truck starts pulling ahead, only to start falling behind on the next upgrade, but the idiot won’t accelerate a little to get it over with. It’s as if people think the gas pedal won’t work if they have cruise control engaged.

A few years ago, I was stuck behind a lane camper running next to a heavily loaded semi maxing at 50 in a 65. I bided my time, then gave a quick flash of the headlights which were ignored. I flashed again. Finally the lane camper hardcore leftist driving a car with teachers union bumper stickers moved over and grabbed her phone.
My wife asked what she was doing. I told her she was calling the police so I obliged her by pulling in front to give her a good view of my license plate.
Of course, I did not get pulled over.
