Where did the police find the phone? I had read somewhere that it was closed and in TM’s pocket - which would throw Jeantel’s statement into doubt - would suggest he prepared himself for the encounter with GZ.
Or maybe it was the earbuds were in his pocket, where the phone had been all along.
Finding phone and earbuds on the ground would be consistent with her statement.
There ought to be some correlation between when the phone call ended and when the 911 calls began - too much time and Jeantel’s testimony becomes dubious.
Hearing something is as good as seeing it, as far as being a witness is concerned. Its not hear say. Ostensibly, what she heard was first hand, not second hand.
The problem is that she is obviously making things up and lying.
You can be stupid and tell the truth, because the truth doesn't require reasoning or though, but you can't be stupid and tell lies. She is coming apart like a set of size 2 pants on a 300 lb NFL lineman.

The phone record should be available, and it may clearly show that the phone was on until after the associated 911 calls were placed. The cross examination isn't over.

A lot of what Dee Dee has said is what she thought people wanted to hear. She has no firm committment to the truth. Her body language is all about “that’s my story, how dare you question it?”
She admitted that someone else wrote the letter for her.

Never took the witness stand in a trial but have had to give a couple of depositions in my life (which I suspect is similar) I was drilled and grilled by the attorney I was working with in an effort to make sure I knew and remembered my story (even though everything I was to say was the honest truth) I suspect she was also. If a lawyer can trip you up under oath you toast.........and I think she is.
I get the feeling she may have done some lockup time already.
