There’s always an ‘out’ clause in those contracts.
I would think being arrested for murder is in there........

On top of the drive by last summer where 2 died and one was injured, he also shot another “friend” in February after losing his temper in a strip club. The police found the guy dumped in an alley. He lost one eye and has filed suit against Hernandez.

A contract to play a game for millions of dollars and all you have to do is not screw it up and try not to get injured. I should have it so hard.

I get the multi-faceted idea, but still think too many have pro sports as an idol.

I highly resent being taxed to fund pro sports stadiuyms for rich owners and rich athletes.

As an example of two idiot sports fans, I offer the industrial salesman who visited my plant ,wearing his own hardhat painted in Michigan State colors. While waiting to see our buyer he related how the buyer at another Ohio plant took a look at the hat and ordered him off the property at once.

So one man lost his chance at a potential big sale and another may have lost his chance to acquire needed goods or services ,all because both were too proud of “their” teams.

Save the endorsement wear for non-work times.

And even then ,too many are willing to fight over team preferences.

My view is probably negatively colored by ,among other experiences, being threatened in the 90s with a 2x4 beating by a co-worker for expressing my view the Cincinnati Bengals “should pay for their own playpen”.

Well, you won’t get any argument from me on any of those points, and as you saw if you looked at my freep page which has been like that for years, I specifically spell out how I feel about celebrity worship.

Those situations you described in your last post are indeed examples of stupidity, and I would stand beside you and castigate them.

But you know...it isn’t just sports.

We get political stupidity.

We get racial stupidity.

We get sexual stupidity.

We get geographic and national stupidity.

What’s the old saying...”Stupid people gotta be stupid!”
