Actually, Bradshaw said on a late night talk show last year that the NFL is slowly dying and soccer will be the American pasttime of the future.

I tend to agree, the English Premier League is skyrocketing in popularity over here. and the new contract with NBCSports means now every game will be available here.

I watch it more than the NFL.

I would also note, that despite the problems with the NHL lockout and the shortened season, the ratings for the Stanley Cup Playoffs were at record levels this year.

I think part of that is more and more Americans are rejecting the “thug” sports of football and basketball.
