Yes, they insisted they needed the DL, even though in person with checkbook, ATM card in hand. Of course they want it when at the drive up window, but never knew what they used it for until I went inside the bank.
They claim as in the doctor office “to prevent fraud”.
After expressing my disgust at the practice several times they don’t ask - at least not lately.
I was trying to cash a little $20 check on a Wells Fargo account at a Wells Fargo bank and they refused to cash it at the drive thru and made me go inside where they wanted my DL and my finger print. Really? On an account with them and for a lousy $20??? I - don’t - think - so. Another Wells Fargo admitted to me they never checked signature cards and that turned into a two hour mess so I’ll NEVER EVER use Wells Fargo.
