The consensus among decent people in favor of the immigration bill making its way through Congress is so firm that expressing dissent feels a bit like taking the floor to suggest we chop down the Redwood National Park. People don’t want to hear it, and they also think you’re a nut.
That makes this article one of the hardest I’ve ever had to write. It’s not that I’m afraid people will get angry; it’s that I can’t imagine anyone on my side (liberal) is open to persuasion. And, despite the vastness and complexity of the issue, I have to be brief: the Senate hopes to be done with things this week.
Sometimes, though, you just have to embrace futility.

Of course! One of the most important of the hundreds of vital reasons to reject amnesty is because of the devastating effect it would have on people legally here...particularly minorities and the young...regarding their ability to find work and the pay they’d get if they found work.
The sad part is white Liberals are so stupid they don’t realize they are going to be the biggest losers if amnesty ever comes to pass.
The truth is Mexicans & Blacks are the biggest racist out there and they only vote for their own and there is no way they will ever let whites rule them.
Look at cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, etc they will never have anything but a Black Mayor ever again. Los Angles, San Antonio and Miami will never have anything but a Hispanic Mayor. Soon these cities won’t even have a single white on the city council or a white heading up any department or agency. There are will even be cities that don’t even want whites as life guards (It’s happening now, see Phoenix)
If you’re a white no matter how good of a Liberal you are, because of your color you will be shut out and disenfranchised. The same will soon happen on state levels like in California and it will happen on the national level. Hillary gets the nod in 2016 because she is a woman and it is “her turn” but after her, no white male or female Liberal will ever have a shot at being president again.
Worse for the White Liberal is sure Blacks & Mexicans love to vote for Progressive things as long as you keep the money flowing to them, but in reality they care little about the things white Liberals care about. They come from very Macho cultures and could give a flying fig about Feminism, Gay rights, Animal rights or the Environment.
If the Queers think old White Conservatives are evil for not letting them force their “Marriage” on everyone, just wait to see how they are treated when they are under a majority Mexican rule.
And ladies, I hope the free birth control Obama gives you is worth it, because all these immigrants aren’t going to be too keen on paying the Social Security for a bunch of old white childless spinsters so they can sit around and throw birthday parties for their pets.
For Conservatives, things will be bad, very bad but we will still have our areas and states where we will still be represented. If things get that bad we can secede. Liberals will be trapped and white Liberals will get the same treatment white Liberals get in Zimbabwe or South Africa.
Thats pretty damn stupid.
Amnesty would eventually be bad for illegal aliens too. AFter they sucked the life out of the USA, where would they go? Back to Mexico? Think of the story of the golden goose.
Here is a story Mexicans (living in Mexico, not here) told me.
If you ask the Mexican govt. for help, they send you a bottle of poison. Of course that’s a joke, but you get the idea.
Thanks for posting this excellent article. I saw it quoted at Ace of Spades today and wanted to read it. The New Republic can run some good pieces sometimes and this is one of them.
Folks should read the comments too. There are only 20 so far, and some are dumb, and if they get more they might get worse. But right now it does seem as if at least a few libs get how bad this is really going to be. At least there is a general acknowledgment that everything said in 1986 was a big fat lie.
I will NOT vote republican again if they pass this. One exception, Rand Paul. But I don’t even think I’m going to vote for Christie after what that stooge he put in the Senate did today.
Why bother, they are all liars. I hate people who lie to me, I really do.
We watch with bewildered looks on our faces as the New World Order takes shape before our very eyes. Disbelieving all we see not understanding how it could be, how our Congress sold out America.
If you look at who is spreading Islam, and all of the OPEC oil money you may start to understand. I think they have paid off government leaders around the world.
We are seeing the beginnings of the one world government.
The Democrats don’t care about the “working poor.” They already have their votes. All they care is about additional votes, and those will only come with the amnesty for the Illegals. The “working poor” can go to Hell for all they care. After all, who else would they vote for?
