We will continue to produce obsolete arms due to the power of their manufacturers. At the end of the Civil War Congress forced the Army to buy single shot muzzle loaded muskets which were so obsolete they were never issued. I have one in new, unused condition. The same will be true for manned aircraft and huge ships, which will be sunk in gross lots.
