To think, at one point, my wife and I were planning to travel to Egypt. We are fans of Egyptian history.

Wonder how many other people around the world had similar plans.

Not any more. Egypt's loss. Not that they would care.

Just watched a show on Military Channel from couple years back talking about using IR satellite images to find new areas to excavate in Egypt. What such is doing on the “Military Channel” would be a separate screed, but the interesting point to me was a calculation that we’ve only found 1% of the sites remaining there to date. I don’t know whether they were correct on that, but if they were my conclusion is we should actively block all such research until such time Egypt is run by civilized human beings who respect the past, not barbarians who think the 7th was the only important century in history. Don’t show the barbarians where to destroy more of OUR history and it will still be there for future civilizations to discover once the barbarians have imploded.
