After all the heaviness Brahms opts for a short intermezzo marked andantino for his dance movement in the Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B minor, Op. 115. Andantino is used a lot by Schubert, but few other composers use it. Here it signifies a reasonable walking pace.

It has a sunny beginning in D Major, but at 1:40 the clouds return for a pensive middle section marked presto. At 4:16 the opening section returns in truncated form for a quiet and peaceful end.

Good evening, Maestro! Bravissimo for the Brahms this evening! And I must say, that rendition of the Immolation Scene you posted last evening was one of the best I have seen! The conclusion to that work really gets me going - full adrenalin!

"Dia shábháil ar fad anseo!"

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
