(CNN) -- Former President Jimmy Carter said embattled celebrity chef Paula Deen should be forgiven, arguing that while there's no condoning the racial slurs she uttered, the well-known personality has been candid and apologetic.

I was just traveling through Charleston, WV. Found a book in a local store that was an autographed copy of Byrd’s book. I looked at it and was estimating my chances of getting away with taking in the men’s room a giving it a good hosing down.
What she said she said in private and got ratted out. Some big wig news prognosticator said it on live TV and got away with it; or was it some neanderthal actor, not sure.
Sears JcPenney’s Walgreens: Your losing a great woman. Everyone says something to offend someone, but we aren’t putting them on the news. Paula keep smiling kick their butts, even tho you voted for the guy in the white house, You are still #1 to me. Thanks Paula.
Who is supposed to forgive her? The guy who robbed the bank and put the gun to her head???
The valuable thing in all of this, as pathetic as it is to watch, is to watch the spectacle of a true believer begin the saga by using the platform of her show to advance the cause of the two most liberal, anti-American, radical racists ever to occupy the living quarters at the White House only to see her consumed in the end by the very thing she advocated in her ignorance.
It is the parable of the scorpion and the frog in real life.
PAULA: You two are charismatic, young and ALL of you stand for everything I stand for! If I have Michelle and Barack on my show, you all will treat me well, wont you?
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: Of course we will. Why wouldnt we? We would get to the White House, and your show will prosper! We both have a lot to gain.
********FIVE YEARS LATER********
PAULA: I helped advance the cause, didnt I? You said you would treat me right, didnt you? Well, I...wait...wait...what? No, I am not a racist! I love you guys, we stand for the same things! I had you on my show, I donated money, had parties to raise money for you...I...
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: You planned a southern style wedding with black only servants. You used the N word.
PAULA: No! Wait...Im no racist! You are misinterpreting what I said! I have always been one of the strongest backers of hate speech legislation! I have never believed there was any gray area or context involved...hate speech is hate speech, and must be punished all the time and everywhere, with no exceptions!
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: Exactly.
PAULA: But I am not a racist, this is what I meant when I used the *N* word...I was trying to explain how it wasnt always a bad thing! Look you use the *N* word to talk to each other, and I was one of you!
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: Sorry. Racist. We are beginning a campaign to have you fired. Our objective is to make people like you pariahs. Racist.
PAULA: Im a good person! I mean well! I am an advocate of women and minorities! I supported you! Im one of you! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, WHEN YOU ***PROMISED*** ME YOU WOULD TREAT ME WELL! WHY? WHY ARE YOU DESTROYING ME WHEN YOU ***PROMISED*** ME! WHY?
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: (nonchalantly smiling) We cannot help it. It is in our nature. It is who we are.
One would hope that there are some liberals out there who have watched this unfold and thought There for the grace of God go I... and take a different look at things because of it.
As conservatives, every one of us knows that "hate speech" can be leveled at any one of us by liberals, because simply speaking the truth (such as: "The majority of violent crime is committed by a small part of the population, young black men" or "The vast majority of terrorist attacks worldwide are carried out by muslim men between the ages of 18 and 45") can be defined as "hate speech". Thing is, liberals NEVER understand that. They are always the most surprised when their own machinery turns on them. To quote Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (in his description of how Soviets reacted when the government knocked on their door to arrest them) they would say in puzzlement: "Me? What for?" This is what is going on with Paula Deen. "Me? What for? I am one of you, I support you and all the things you believe in!" So it is always a possibility that some liberals might see this and understand.
I know. It is fantasy. But like that Despair.com poster of the rusted bow of a ship sticking out of the water with the caption: "Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others" we can always ***hope*** it makes someone see the light.
The only people punished for racial slurs are white people.
Wonder how long the list for rap songs that use them?.
To think that there are people complaining who think the likes of Lisa Lampinelli and Joan Rivers are funny is mind-boggling.
The Paula Deen apology tour has been nothing less than pathetic. Do I feel sorry for her. Hell no. Just another stooge for the left. But.
If a black guy robs me and shoves a gun in my face and I let fly a few “niggers” then I pretty much think I’m entitled. But I’d rather keep my mouth shut and just shove my weapon up his ass. Maybe the race baiters would like that better?
Senator Byrd was given a pass. AND Senator Byrd was given protection from the liberal MSM. THEY NEVER reported on his KKK past until they were put in the position of having to protect him from the right - cause WE outed him.
This is the first thing I have heard fro carter since his days campaigning with which I agree. His first campaign, I mean.
Totally depends on your melanin content.
Paula loves big brother.
