Although some see it as a clear-cut case of race discrimination, Kim Ratliff, a County Commissioner in Mecklenburg County, N.C., doesn’t regret saying that the next county manager should be a “non-white male.”
Ratliff’s comments were made last Friday when she commented on the departure of longtime county manager Harry Jones, WISTV.com reports.
The County Commissioner said other county officials should learn from Jones’ tenure as county manager.
“There were some people the manager was not talking to. There were county commissioners who were not talking to the manager,” she said, adding that the future county manager must have open lines of communication with all colleagues.
She continued, saying that she’d like to see “someone who is diverse – hopefully someone outside of North Carolina would be ideal for me.” Ratliff added that the county needs a “non-white male who can good working relations with all people.”

Based on the tone of her comments I'm guessing she was one of the commissioners who was not talking to the manager. So maybe she's the one who need to work on establishing "a good working relationship with all people" and drop the racist crap.
So it is the fault of white county manager Harry Jones that racist black county commissioners won’t talk to him?
And the only solution they can think of is that the next county manager must be black.

No. There was something just a week or two ago with those exact circumstances, some college group looking for a “diversity coordinator” or something like that. I’m too lazy to rummage around for it but I know it was recent.

Ex-County Manager Harry Jones is a black man. He was actually fired by the County Commissioners.
If I wanted to be equally as racist as Ms. Ratliff, I would say “you had a non-white male in the position previously... how’d that work out for you?”

Quite a few “taxes” have run from Charlotte already (and continue to do so)... Union, Cabarrus, Iredell, Gastonia, York counties... all close with fairly easy road access.
Mecklenburg has a solid history of burying the producer class in taxes all for the sake of capital boondoggles.

Last time I checked, communication was a two way street. My question is how many of the minority commissioners tuned the manager out because he was white?
