BOSTON (CBS) A silver SUV was towed from Aaron Hernandezs uncles home in Bristol, Connecticut Friday night.
Investigators, including Boston Police, were at the house in Bristol searching all night.
A tow truck from Mattapan towed away the Toyota 4-Runner with Rhode Island plates that was parked in the homes garage. Because Boston Police are involved, its possible the vehicle could be linked to their investigation into an unsolved double murder.
The mystery surrounding Aaron Hernandezs involvement in the unsolved crime deepens. But Boston Police appear to be breathing new life into the case which could provide a possible motive for the killing two weeks ago of a Dorchester man.
Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, is being held without bail in the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd of Dorchester. Lloyd was found shot to death in a North Attleboro industrial park on June 17.
The vehicle towed from Connecticut matches the description of a car Boston Police have been looking for in the fatal shooting in Bostons South End last July. A silver SUV with Rhode Island plates was seen speeding away from the drive-by shooting. Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu were gunned down as they sat at a traffic light.
WBZ sources say Aaron Hernandez is being looked at in connection with the crime and overnight, Boston Police were seen searching his North Attleboro home, leaving without any evidence bags, but then heading to Bristol where they impounded the vehicle. Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis will only say the double murder investigation has some new life.
Family members say the two victims had been at the Boston nightclub Cure before they were killed.
Sources tell WBZ Odin Lloyd may have been executed because he had information about Hernandezs possible involvement in the double homicide, angering the former Patriot because he was talking about it, sources say, in the days before Lloyd was gunned down.
It all raises the possibility that Hernandez played the last season after being involved in a fatal double shooting.
Why did the Patriots keep Hernandez around? Did they have any knowledge he was a suspect in the 2012 double murder? Were they aware had possible gang ties? I understand a lot of pro ball players aren’t boy scouts but do the teams have to accept thug life?
Caught a discussion on a sports show,...might have been Dan Patrick...questions came up on what did the Patriots know,.,,case of Ray Lewis some years ago alos came up.
Watch the sport shows ,...there will be discussion about thugs in the NFL.
Sounds like he belonged in the NBA.
It looks to me like the NFL is suffering from an acute case of having too many democrats.
About those tattoos, I heard on some show that Hernandez is supposedly a "Latin King." Have you seen anything to confirm that?
This guy (Hernandez) must be dumber than dirt. You have $30+ million and you:
* Live in a tacky sub-division
* Spit your DNA all over a murder scene
* Allow yourself to be seen on your own surveillance w/ a gun
* Don’t have enough sense to change out a car used in another murder
And Bob Costa foolishly rants about “gun culture” when the true problem is the NFL’s “thug culture” which he has long supported.
There is a good chance that not only NFL teams, but every pro team has former g men as part of their front office. I have brother who is a state Leo, he works “security” as a part time job for NFL team. He is a liasion between management and leo’s.
