Trayvon Martin’s Stepmother Speaks Out: I Don’t Think Zimmerman ‘Picked Him Out Because He Was Black’

Alicia Stanley, Trayvon Martin‘s stepmother, sat down last night for an emotional interview with Anderson Cooper. Stanley opened up about the 14 years she spent raising Martin with his father and how it’s been hard for her to watch George Zimmerman‘s trial and hear all the things people have been saying about the night that her son died. She told Cooper that while she is convinced of Zimmerman’s guilt, she does not personally believe that he picked her son out because he was black.

SNIP

She became emotional again when talking about losing a child she raised for most of his life, and described how painful it was to not be able to sit in the front row at Martin’s funeral. She told Cooper that it would be “heartbreaking” and “unbelievable” if Zimmerman is found not guilty.

There's a very telling part of the interview, here:

COOPER: ..he talked about George Zimmerman, and the terms he used, um, the "cracker," that, the defense is trying to make it sound like Trayvon Martin is introducing race into this situation. Is that something you think is fair?

STANLEY: No, it's not fair... it's because, kids gonna be kids.

I find that statement astonishing.

Calling someone a racial term, is BY DEFINITION, introducing race into the situation.

Now it's quite likely that Martin didn't use that term to George Zimmerman's face. He used it to Rachel Jeantel.

But it is very revealing as to how Martin was thinking of George Zimmerman.

He wasn't a "guy" who was following Martin.

He was a "CRACKER."

I'm sorry, Ms. Stanley, but THAT IS RACIAL. THAT IS, BY ITS VERY DEFINITION, "INTRODUCING RACE INTO THE SITUATION."

And the astonishing thing is that the very same people who will glibly and totally excuse a Trayvon Martin ("Kids gonna be kids") would ABSOLUTELY CRUCIFY ANY WHITE PERSON WHO USED A RACIAL EPITHET.

I don't buy the double standard. It's total BS.

The defenses problem in all of this is that it was Zimmermans actions that started the entire situation going.

So, skulking around close to homes after dark played no part? Not going straight back to the home he was staying in and waiting for the Creepy Ass Cracker to catch up to him played no part?

For the mother, it’s the time honored tradition of “My boy was an angel, and he couldn’t have done what they say he did.”

Expect that line to be repeated many, many, many times over this summer, as the feral yutes get their final, first class lesson in the 2nd amendment...

With the neighbor testimony about Martin being on top of Zimmerman, it has to be a steep uphill climb for the prosecution from here on out. This testimony corroborates Zimmerman’s testimony about the event.

To this(attempting to remain impassioned) individual, it would seem that it should have been obvious to the authorities that Zimmerman really was fearful for his own life and that he was justified using the force that he did.

Can anyone say prosecutorial misconduct?

‘Does it even matter if Zimmerman was only protecting himself?’

Not if the slain young black boy could have been Odumbo’s son it doesn’t.

That is an excellent video. You can still see the wounds on his face and bandages on the back of his head. It was definitely St. Skittles checking Zimmerman out and looking to do something to him.

The breakdown of the family, and the resulting chaos in children’s lives, is responsible for many of the pathologies in society today.

The wholly intentional outcome of LBJ's "War on Poverty". Daniel Patrick Moynihan, an Asst Sec'y of Labor at the time, circulated a white paper describing exactly what would happen to black families as a result of these policies.

What Moynihan didn't count on was that this was precisely his party's objective -- the break-up of the black nuclear family and a resultant mass of black voters dependent upon the largesse of the Democrat party.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can. Prosecutorial misconduct. And I can say judicial misconduct also, after listening to that biased judge aid and assist the prosecutor.
What a kangaroo court.
Certainly understand your/her point of view. Since her divorce from his father she would have little if any influence May have been best for TM if he had stayed with her. Biological parents have much lacking.
Listening to her, she certainly sounds like a decent person. I do think she was probably quite a bit naive as to some of the other influences that were taking hold on Trayvon. If he had survived long enough and if he had stayed with her, she might have been able to help him through the stupid stage.
As well, if she had home schooled Trayvon rather than him going to the public school, a lot of things might have happened quite a bit differently.
Unfortunately, we'll never know.
powerful video- none fo that soudned contrived or rehersed- yuo could clearly see george was reliving hte moment as he got to key points and describing events to the best of his nkowledge- he was enver ‘tripped up’ and groping for words regardless of where they were in location because he was recalling everythign as though watchign it onscreen- Had he had to rehearse what he was goign to tell the police, he would have been thrown off his ‘story’ manty times and woudl have had to quickly come up with answers to the quastions that he hadn’t thought of before, but every question he was asked was answered in a natural manner consitant with recalling a traumatic event-
Yes, and so did the attention mongering mother Sybrina...she said George Zimmerman shot his attacker but not out of a pre-mediated state....I believe her words were something to the effect that “things got out of control” or something like that.
Reminded me of when the parents of “Balloon Boy” outed his parents’ hoax on national tv....except the race baiting lawyer quickly manufactured a press release, and the obedient media quickly obeyed the St. Skittles meme.
It blows my mind the amount of people who just completely ignore the fact of self-defense. I just can’t wrap my mind around it...Smashed in nose, head smashed - - He should have just sat back and accepted it. I mean what kind of logic are they using here?
It is the language of victimhood. In that culture, Trayvon was a victim and will always be an innocent child.
And in the culture of victimhood, someone must pay. In the world view of those in the victimhood culture, they are the victims of whitey and his culture. In their view, the whole of American culture is racist (being built on a foundation of racism) and that culture (America) must pay.
In this case, Zimmerman is the point man for White culture and he must pay.
While this is captured in Derrick Bell's Critical Race Theory (CRT), it is second nature to the entire culture of Black Victimhood.
This is one of the several reasons why Obama hates America.
I have a fair amount myself. I wasn’t aware it was that bad. I went to the local gun show last year and picked up what I thought would be a fairly good supply. Had no problem at that time. Also picked up some other caliber supplies too.
[[I keep hearing how he shouldn’t have shot him because getting his head bashed in wasn’t life threatening.]]
Compelte and utter BS- ANYTIME someoen bashes someone’s head agaisnt ANYTHING, let alone agaisnt a cement sidewalk, the person doigfn hte bashing is using a DEADLY WEAPON and the person who’s head is being bashed has every right to assume they are abotu to die and to use deadly force to prevent it- And let’s not forget- the moment trayvo nassaulted/blindsided/cheap shot hit george- george was within his rightsw to defend hismelf because he does NOT nkow whether this kid is high, on drugs, drunk, a psycho or even whetrher hte kid hasd a gun or not- George, as soon as he is assaulted, has every right to defend hismelf with deadly force-
It is NEVER right to criminally assault soemone- period- if someoen is stupid enough to ignore that and assault someone, they take hteir lives i ntheir own hands and risk beign justifiably killed- This kid paid with his life for havign a BAD ATTITUDE- This kid WANTED a physical confrontation with george, and that is exactly what he got- this kid had every opportunity to simpyl go home and avoid the situation- but it’s very likely that htem ore htis angry kid thought about it, them ore angry he becasme until it drove him to criminally Assault george- and hte kid paid with his life for it-
[[Liberal “logic.” There is no greater sin in the leftist mind than self-reliance.]]
In a liberal’s mind, the only acceptable outcome woudl have been if george laid htere like a wet noodle and had his brains bashed in until his life was extinguished- in their mind, (what little htere is of it) since george ‘could not be sure’ whether or not martin was abotu to murder him DESPITE martin TELLING GEORGE THAT, george shoudl have simply stopped resisting and allowed martin to do whatever he wanted- i nthe liberal mind, noone is to assuem hte worse ie: This man is tryign to murder me- gtherefore I need to defend myself- in the liberal mind, one can noyl be certain they are abotu to be mrudered AFTER they HASVE been murdered- only hten can a definitive conclusion be made by the victim
