Aren’t Sarah’s brother and parents current/retired public school employees?

Isn’t Todd a union member?

According to some, public school teachers, government employees, and union members are all enemies of freedom. It seems that Sarah Palin has a different view of things. Conservatism will never truly succeed through rabble-rousing demonization of ordinary people. That also includes the working poor, the unemployed, the elderly, or anyone else who is trying to survive. A big tent beats a circular firing squad any day.

Many are but not all. A group called Union Conservatives were instrumental in helping to push the right to work law through here in Michigan. They supported it primarily because of Obama's job killing policies and union leadership ignoring the will of their members. I've been a member of two different unions and I've never been a democrat supporter.

What I've found is the same overall trend among union members as you see across the general population. Urban union members lean democrat and rural union members tend to lean republican.

Another good point. Attacking them isn't going to work and that includes those on welfare. Instead, the GOP needs to treat them like victims of democrat policies because that's exactly what they are.

I've got a string of inner city pastors that I've been talking to as a means of learning and a means of turning them. One thing they're telling me is that we can never win the poor inner city people by beating them up or giving them things. Instead these pastors suggest that the GOP stops beating them up and starts creating jobs. Once those people start working those jobs they'll start looking for greener political pastures on their own.

Government employee unions are tools of the political machine.

The average government employee and in one of my two jobs I am a government employee isn’t so far to the left and many of us are sick and tired of the business as usual union pitches of fear and restentment.

Those pitches are designed to keep government workers on the Democrat Party plantation.

The Republicans use fear and resentment of Obama and other things to keep people on GOP plantation.

America can do better than the politics of fear and resentment.
