Do you have Israeli stamps in your passport?

Yep.

A direct flight to Israel is not and never was the issue. You act as if Great Britain particular the Londonistan area and the Manchesterstan area are not so thoroughly muslim and anti Jewish that women are raped, street corner preachers routinely call for Sharia, local schools are afraid to teach the holocaust because the muslims find it offensive. Apparently you have not kept up on the current events in Great Britain.

Germany had a vibrant Jewish community until they didn’t. Get your head out of the sand. Your defense of British anti-semitism is rather like the German Jew who in 1938 siad there is nothing to worry about because we are good Germans.

The UK government owes Cantor a free plane ride to Britain and big money for the difficulty they caused him.

Horrible.

You do not appear to be a member of the reality-based community.

In 1938, German law forced Jews with "Christian" first names to add "Israel" or "Sara" to their first names and Jews were routinely required by legal authorities to give obscene names to their children (e.g. "Slut").

German law barred Jews from attending public schools, from universities, from movie theaters, from theaters and from sports facilities

German law outlawed sex and intermarriage between Jews and non-Jews, and existing marriages were annulled.

Jews were barred from employing female non-Jews as domestics.

Jewish doctors were barred from treating gentiles.

Jews were barred from owning or displaying the German flag.

All Jewish passports were stamped with the letter J for "Jude" as were internal papers.

German paramilitary forces attacked, beat and murdered Jews on the street, destroying Jewish businesses and synagogues.

Please tell me what drug you are consuming which causes you to believe that any of the aforementioned are occurring presently in the United Kingdom.

Sorry guys, but this smells like BS to me. I am Jewish and I fly to the UK all the time. I've never been harassed for being Jewish. But I have seen PLENTY of people turned back for trying to work illegally in the UK. Might THAT have been what was happening? The guy ADMITS he was only going to the UK to get work experience. Did he have a visa? Because they are extraordinary sensitive to folks -- Americans included -- who try to work on a tourist visa.

Yup. I posted this in another thread, it's a screenshot from an interview with this guy:

Note the lack of a work visa - the (voided) UK entry stamp is placed directly on one of the "Visas" pages of his passport.

Seems to me that this guy didn't take the time to learn the requirements for working in the UK (probably figured he was OK since he was going to be there), was denied entry, and is now trying to turn it into something it is not.

And there were still good Germans who thought they were safe even though they were Jewish. The deial that was rampant in ALL of Germany from 1933 onward is well documented.

Your other comment is just dumb...

You could be right - that there is more to it than appears on the surface. We'll probably never know for sure because it's unlikely any clarfication will be coming forward from the UK.

You DO realise the UK and England are not the same?. That the UK is Scotland, England, Wales and NI?.

‘local schools are afraid to teach the holocaust because the muslims find it offensive.’

Utter drivel. As ‘true’ as the ‘only halal meat in UK schools’ nonsense.

‘Apparently you have not kept up on the current events in Great Britain.’

Well, they do say Americans don’t get irony.

‘However, the smoldering hated for Jews by the British public has long been there.’

An utter and disgusting lie. The Jewish population of Great Britain lives happily without any major anti-semitism. In fact, Judaism is openly celebrated as a long standing and vibrant part of British culture. British TV ran Jewish documentaries across all five of its network channels last year.

Did America?.

British Jewish entertainers, writers, politicians and businesspeople openly celebrate their Jewishness. The London East End Jew, with his sharp wit and mouth is as well loved and known a cultural icon as the Glaswegian or the Cockney.

The current British Prime Minister is part Jewish. As is the deputy PM. As is the leader of the opposition party(Labour). So you have Jewish-descended people in the three most important political positions in the UK.

Are Obama, Biden and Romney Jewish?......

The comments about British people are simply obnoxious. They are a disgusting slander on the vast, vast majority of the British people. Who are no more antisemitic than their American cousins.

The UK is the nation that rejected the naked antisemitism of the 1930’s Fascists, and continues to reject the antisemitism of the BNP and other fringe neo-nazi parties and groups. The nation that stood alone against Hitler, while America and others stood by. And the nation that liberated Belsen and saved Jewish lives.

To suggest that the British people are antisemitic OR that the jews of Britain are victims of mass cultural or physical antisemitism is a downright and disgusting lie.

‘After World War II, antisemitism manifested itself in the British abuse of Jews in Palestine, until the Jews rather violently encourage the British to back off.’

Between 1944 and 1948, not one but two Jewish terrorist gangs bombed, murdered and tortured their way across Palestine, murdering British, Arab and Jew alike. The Irgun and the Stern Gang, the latter of whom even in 1941 made overtures to the Nazis in return for agreement of a Jewish homeland. Both gangs also murdered and tortured fellow Jews who opposed their terrorism.

Most Palestine Jews, including Ben Gurion, opposed their terrorism and worked with the British to bring them to justice. So sickened were they by the terrorist campaign (which included the torture and murder of two unarmed British soldiers).

Yet all you can talk about is postwar British ‘abuse’?. All the British postwar in Palestine were doing was getting bombed and murdered by the Irgun and Stern.

Oh, no doubt you think both groups were freedom fighters....

Are you so sure?

According to the Jerusalem Post: “The British Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is providing funding to an organisation which promotes anti-Israel speakers and encourages the boycott movement around the world.

“A leaked Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) e-mail has revealed that the British government is in dialogue with groups that advocate the boycotting of Israeli goods, products, or people, despite British government policy to the contrary.

Jacob Vince, director of Christian Friends of Israel, says there is a great deal of anti-Semitism in the UK.

June 24, 2013: “Prince Charles spoke out against the “apparent rise in anti-Semitism” in Britain.”

Britons will take issue with the assertion that Britain is an anti-Semitic country. But they cannot convincingly refute Shimon Peres’s observation that the British establishment has long had an uneasy relationship with both the Jews and the Jewish state. Nor can they deny that the new anti-Semitism, which deliberately blurs the line between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism, is moving into the mainstream.

Shimon Peres noted: “Yes, there is also anti-Semitism. There is in England a saying that an anti-Semite is someone who hates the Jews more than is necessary.” He added: “There are several million Muslim voters [in Britain], and for many members of parliament, that is the difference between getting elected and not getting elected.”

Importantly, I am coming from an American, not a European perspective. For years, the Democrat party was deeply pro-Jewish, and mostly pro-Israel. However in the 1980s, that began to change, and today the Democrats are vehemently anti-Israeli, and none too friendly to American Jews, either. However, both they and American Jews are in denial about this anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

I suspect that the UK is in a similar position.

Where the likes of The Sun are concerned, yes, some stories are either made up or gross exaggerations of the truth. The praying bus driver is another classic example.

I didn’t say all the stories weren’t true. I said the Holocaust and Halal stories weren’t. Its illegal btw not to teach the Holocaust in the UK.

No, we are part of the UK (we joined, unlike the Irish and Welsh). In fact we have an independence referendum in 2014.
Currently, at least 70% of the Scottish voters favour STAYING in the UK. That includes me.

You might be confused because we have a Scottish Parliament, but we are still part of the UK.

here is the BBC report on the holocaust story....I made no mention of the halal story since that is harder to track

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/6517359.stm

nothing suggests that this has changed. It doesn’t matter what the ‘core’ course requirements are if teachers are afraid enough of their students that they will not teach it
