Rather than raise the state income tax, which may actually get the attention of the low information voters, the powers that be raise ‘fees’ in many other avenues.

And gas taxes are borne far more by low-income (and usually low-information) voters than state income taxes.

Good God, Cali residents... how do you do it? With the state raping your pocketbook on a regular basis, how do you make a go of scratching out a living out there?

I’d rather see them raise the gas tax than income tax. The moocher base is large in California. At least if it is a gas tax almost everyone pays it.
Not saying I wanted a tax increase period.
