There will be a sequel to Mark Burnett's successful miniseries "The Bible," but it won't be on the History Channel.
Instead, it's moving from the minors to the majors: Burnett and NBC are forging a holy alliance to bring the sequel to the peacock.

The sequel, which bears the working title "A.D.: Beyond the Bible," follows the enormously popular 10-part miniseries "The Bible," which drew a huge audience to History earlier this year and is a likely Emmy contender.
It should be noted that Burnett executive-produces NBC's hit singing competition "The Voice."
The new project begins in the dark days after Jesus' betrayal and death.

a sequel to the Bible?
So it's about Mohammed then and his rewrite?
Starring Alec Baldwin?
He may focus more deeply on some of the stories he either didn’t cover or just glossed over.
I thought Comcast laid down the order to NBC to “get rid of all the old people”. Moses and Abraham, anyone?
I can understand the interest, given what we are living through today.
“the dark days after Jesus’ betrayal and death” ended on Easter morning.
If NBC does it, it will get all mangled into a lesson on green energy, homosexuality and the positives of totalitarian rule.
Will it be introduced by two polite young men in white shirts and ties on their bicycles?
The ol’ peacock rainbow will be prominently displayed, no doubt. Making deals with the devil is always a bad idea - I hope they maintain the integrity and accuracy of the original.
Like Sodom and Gomorrah? There were a couple of other things I didn't like either. It made Abraham look like a crazy kook talking to himself.
Although Satan looking like Obama was dead on.
I can’t understand why the Bible would be of such interest to NBC. I mean, our dictator and chief said that America is a post Christian nation. He won 2 elections going out of his way to criticize “those people who cling to their Bibles and guns.” Could it be that obama may be wrong? Maybe America is still a Christian nation holding onto it Christian roots. Maybe, it’s just obama who was never a Christian.

A series about Andy Devine?
I won’t be watching it.
I don’t watch anything on NBC or ABC. CBS has a couple shows that are tolerable (ie. Blue Bloods)
You know - like The Third Testament. Or The Other Third Testament. Or The Book of Mormon.
Given this is coming to NBC, I expect it to look like this: Ghandi II.
We DVR’d and watched the entire series, but I must say that I was really not that impressed by the treatment, so I doubt we will watch the next series.
The special effects were impressive, though.
Why would they have ties on their bicycles?
