He really does speak like a communist - rationing resources being always near the top of their agendas. We can’t have the entire world with this luxury or that necessity so we must make everybody scale back and only we, the government, has the wisdom to make those decisions for you.

It's far worse then that. The fundamental difference between communism and capitalism is private ownership. If through the guise of the most idiotic form of junk science, ‘’climate change/ global warming’’ you can prevent liberty-loving, free market capitalists and ordinary folks from using their own land and resources as they have the right to, in accord with reasonable laws and mindfulness of nature, to better their lives and others through their talent, driving ambition , intelligence, honest hard work and God's gift of freedom, then one who is a Communist might someday bring about the ultimate aim of Communism-- the destruction of capitalism and the elimination of liberty and freedom.
