There is no question that Black Americans can perform admirably in the modern world...they do so all the time.
This problem is about culture. About the refusal of some to take a place in the modern world.
If some humans prefer to be feral...so be it. Give them a cage and let them exist among themselves.
If and when some wish to grow-up...evaluate them on a one by one basis. Trust them not.
We will live in a bifurcated world. Not our choice...but theirs.
So you heard Dr. Jeremiah Wright’s speech at the Press Club in 2008, too?
When my Mom left public education after 35 years of teaching English and Latin and 10 years of integrated schools, to teach "communications" at a Vo-Tech school, she made two observations:
1. "I am finally teaching in a place where students want to be, instead of where they have to be."
2. "Integration was supposed to raise blacks to a higher standard of education. Instead, I have seen white students embrace the ghetto culture with their manners, their music and their morals."
Democrat politicians and activists WANT the black community hobbled and dependent.
Recall in the 1990s when the Clinton Administration tried to get “ebonics” recognized as proper (but dialect) English.
They’d never get ahead in life but they could probably count on a set aside gig or two.
The musician/comedian known as Clarence Reid/Blowfly shocked a documentary filmmaker by blaming a lot of the problems in the black community on self-serving, unelected, unappointed, black community “leadership” (the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons and Barack Obamas of the world). His traveling companions called him “racist”. Clarence is black.
