WASHINGTON The sentencings of former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., and his wife, Sandi, were postponed Monday, with no new date set.
The South Side Democrats had been scheduled to learn their fates Wednesday, until the delay was announced by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who is not related to the pair. A court spokesman said neither the prosecution nor defense asked for the postponement.
"The matter was rescheduled to accommodate the court's schedule and workload neither side requested a continuance," said Jenna Gatski, a spokeswoman for the U.S. District Court.

Jesse Jr. will get time served and an apology.
Her Honor wouldn’t be providing additional time in order to make sure she gets the highest price possible for sentencing, would she? They don’t do that in Chicago, do they?
It’s just taking longer than expected to count all that money.
Sure it was...Judge Jackson didn't realize the JJ Jr. sentencing was coming up, completely slipped her mind and all the court staff.
You just can't make this stuff up.
Maybe she got a call from Kenya?
That sounds very improper. The prosecuting attorney and their own counsel weren't privy to the communication? I wonder how much money they offered to the judge.
That's why ex parte communications are inappropriate, to prevent the appearance of impropriety. But hey, this is a Chicago case, after all!
I’ve had that happen before. Doesn’t happen often, but happens.
No doubt..........
Or he and wife were given heavy sentences and they’d like to release that info if/when George Zimmerman is cleared of the charges against him - the same day if possible?
Hope someone's watching their movements...
“Dumb question: do the Jacksons have current passports?
Hope someone’s watching their movements...”
Of course they are. But they’re not talkin...!
Sunday Jessie Sr. was on TV howling about Zimmerman, but then asking for mercy for Jr.
Not surprised. Just sayin’.
