Something is not working for American blacks. Whether Black English is a cause or an effect — or most likely both — is an important question for the future of an eighth of the nation’s population — a group that is also burdened by functionally racist government policies such as the rise of the welfare state, the failed “war on drugs,” and Democratic hatred of school choice.
Could some of the failure of blacks to succeed in the workforce be due to racism within American society? Sure it could. But when so many young blacks refuse to speak English because they don’t want to “seem white,” it is difficult for whites to respond by saying “OK, you’re hired.” Whatever the reasons may be for Hispanics in the United States not learning English, being afraid of seeming white is probably not on the list.
It is not just that someone who speaks Black English (exclusively) is likely to be less qualified for almost any job than someone who speaks American English, but, at least for this white guy, I have to wonder whether the person speaks the way he speaks because he is a victim of government schools or because he buys into a new black version of “separate but equal” — which is of course far more separate than equal — but this time by blacks’ own doing.

Jeantel is a direct and deliberate result of democrat policies over the last 5 decades. Democrats once made it illegal to teach slaves to read to keep them on the plantations and they’re doing the same today.

She can’t write black or white English. And she’s nearing H.S. Graduation. That’s the only important point to me.
And minimum-wage laws, union power, illegal immigration, high taxes and restrictive regulation of business, etc., etc.
She’s one of the children and grandchildren of LBJ.
That and another element one might called a cultural divorce (by choice) from modernity.
Americans don't speak "white" or English for that matter...they speak American (which is a version of English).
Young Blacks don't seem to want to assimilate into America and by refusing to do so are going to end up like muslims who refuse to assimilate. They have their "no-go" zones in America just as do the "yutes" of Europe.

They can dress it up by calling it “black English”, “ebonics”, or whatever. The simple fact is, unless blacks can generate their own economic base and jobs, they need to learn to speak, and write (cursive too) regular English.
from the pictures of Trayvon, it looked like he had a life with a lot of opportunities. The pictures of him show him fishing, horseback riding, and engaging in football.

When millions and millions of European immigrants filled American cities, they arrived speaking (whatever). Their children were enrolled in American schools where they were taught ONLY the English language, the language of their new country. They were educated as AMERICAN children is the schools, even as they retained much of the culture of their parents.
A hundred years later (actually a lot less) these immigrant kids and in turn, their children grew up and took over the USA. Just look are the names of today’s mayors, governors, senators, doctors, professors and think of their roots.
The LIBERALS, in their deliberate denigration of education and the learning of the English language among the ‘newcomers’ are acting to maintain their control, unchallenged by uppity “newcomers”.
When I was growing up, the rule was that “The kids were not even ALLOWED to speak the old language to their friends.
Speak (******) to parents and the old folks, but ONLY English to your friends.”
Without the language of the land, you are doomed to third class status, or lower.

That said, demonicRATs evil policies notwithstanding, Martin is personally responsible for his life and his death.
What is strange is that some of the most powerful voices in modern American have been from people who happen to be black — like the Rev. Martin Luther King and James Earl Jones.
